It Depends on the Meaning of the Word "Great"

You keep telling yourself that, Piccoli. [More]

I stopped treating Newsmax as a serious provider of alternative "conservative" views when I learned Chris Ruddy is pals with Bill Clinton. A more likely alternative, if the guy's not a total Kool-Aid-drinking idiot, is we're dealing with Democrat moles with a mission to have the GOP advance the most objectionable "front runner" possible.

UPDATE: OK, go read Workman, but I'm having nothing to do with directing anyone to Newsmax.

This is Fine!

Yeah, well, "conservative" Newsmax honcho Chris Ruddy can't get him enough Bubba Love, either.

With 'Republicans' Like These, Who Needs Democrats?

Ros-Lehtinen decried that the growth of the GOP “seems to be very limited in a specific group.” But, she noted, “the demographics of our great country is changing greatly.” [More]
And whose fault is that?

So the answer is to embrace the disarmament agenda?

It doesn't surprise me to see NewsMax hosting such surrender sentiment.

A Conservative Perspective

Chris Ruddy and Bill Clinton are new BFFs.

Ruddy has "always admired" him.

NewsMax always struck me as a false neocon alternative anyway.

What a tool.

A Question of Standards

YouTube took down a newly recorded interview with former President Donald Trump in Google’s latest action against conservatives. A Newsmax spokesperson told The Epoch Times via email that the company was told the Feb. 17 interview was removed because it violated YouTube’s community guidelines. [More]

So the (ostensibly former and falsely accused racist) President of the United States is offensive, but the President of the United States of Love is well within YouTube/Google community guidelines!

Must be-- it's all over the place

Everybody knows those lyrics were written by white "progressives" and made white producers a ton of money, both as a movie and on The Great White Way, right?

On the One Hand...

Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting John McCain praised New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg during a visit to the Big Apple and hinted that Bloomberg could be considered as a possible running mate.
On the one hand, I've long been suspect of Newsmax as a credible source for anything, and "conservative" Richard Mellon Scaife changing his tune on Hillary was nothing short of bipolar.

On the other hand, McCain straddling both sides of the fence is nothing new.

I'm going to start referring to him as "The Award-Winning John McCain."

And They Say There Are No Stupid Questions

Do you agree that the Second Amendment gives citizens the right to own and bear guns without infringement? [More]
I wonder how many ignoramuses who don't know why they're wrong and get all angry and obnoxious with people who do answered "yes"?  I don't fee like giving out my edress and zip code to find out-- I get enough targeted spam as is.

See, there's a problem with some websites people accept as sympatico because of the tone they strike to appeal to a certain readership. Ever since I found out Ruddy was part of a mutual admiration society with Clinton, I've had about as much use for Newsmax as I've had with that obnoxious carnival barker "conservative" Michael Savage.

Yet again I must defer to Mr. Pynchon.

With Friends Like These...

I took a screenshot of an ad on Drudge yesterday:

It clicked over to here:

...which is somehow affiliated with Newsmax.com, an ostensibly "conservative" site.

Thanks, guys. Nothing like implying an unfounded and hurtful conclusion about handguns. We really appreciate you reaching millions of people with that imagery.

And as long as we're segueing into stooges, is the advertisement photo you're using to make money with one with a licensing agreement?

The Savage Violation

America's most fiery conservative talk show host backing liberal Jerry Brown for California's attorney general?

Yes, it's true.

Michael Savage, the nation's third-most-listened-to radio host (and fourth-most-influential host, according to NewsMax's Top 25 List), confirmed that he recently donated $5,600 – the maximum allowable – to Brown's campaign. [More]

No, it's not all "true". While "conservative" is a relative term based on what it is you're trying to "conserve," the implication in the US is that it refers to someone who believes in the founding principles of the Constitution.

I've long shaken my head in wonder at anyone who could be bamboozled into thinking this bloviating loudmouth is sincere about anything other than self-promotion. I never did see any depth in the guy, but then, what did Mr. Mencken tell us about the American public?

We've seen what Jerry Brown thinks of gun rights. He's basing a large part of his campaign running commercials against them. By donating money to his campaign, Savage has provided aid and comfort to the enemy. He has revealed himself to be the enemy.

Anyone wasting time or money following this obnoxious carnival barker is chasing a sterile queen bee. If you've ever bought one of his books, congratulations. You just helped finance the further enslavement of ourselves and our posterity.

Judge Roberts Needs MY Help?

I got a piece of spam on my Hotmail account from one "Robert R. Eberle, Ph.D.President and CEO, GOPUSA," telling me "Judge Roberts Needs Your Help!" and invoking the names Ted Kennedy, Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin to convince me of my need to sign a Newsmax Petition.

I replied:

He may need my help, but does he deserve it?

What has he ever said or done to demonstrate he understands what the Second Amendment is about, and that he will rule properly on right to keep and bear arms cases that come before him--or that he will even support allowing them to come before the high court?

Not that I expect an answer. But I do find it curious that the only people scrambling to find out more about this--and there (intentionally?) seems precious little to be found-- are those of us in the hard core RKBA activist blogging community--the emphasis everywhere else appears to be focused exclusively on Roberts' potential to impact Roe v Wade.

At this writing, there is no news release from NRA--the folks with the beltway connections and ears to the ground in DC. They do link to two Wall Street Journal columns, "Introducing John Roberts" and "Roberts Rules," but neither piece says word one about guns.

Newsmax...

...Your "conservative" source for the truth about Mexican crime guns (parroted as ginned up by leftist WaPo). [Read]

Just ask Clinton BFF Chris Ruddy.

Just keep following those sterile queen bees...
