Amish Photo Exemption Bill Raises Questions about Gun Owner Control Laws and More

Where does anyone get off requiring a free citizen to get permission to exercise a right? Who has legitimate moral authority to impose prior restraints on rights that, depending on your beliefs, are either “endowed by our Creator” or inherent to the condition of being human? [More]
If photo IDs disenfranchise minority voters as "progressives" claim, why doesn't the same requirement disenfranchise them from their right to keep and bear arms?

Deutch Smart Gun Rant Confirms Intent is Control Not Safety

But it’s not about safety or reliability anyway, and Deutch knows that, even if the useful idiots he’s swindling out of their rights do not. The people pushing for such mandates are only interested in forcing diktats on those they would disenfranchise, and on restricting their choices. [More]
It's always instructive to see impulse control-challenged deutchbags blurt out their intent and expose the narratives crafted for public consumption.

ABC acting as administration’s propaganda bureau on guns is the real scandal

Masking such advocacy as entertainment is reminiscent of something much more insidious. Subjecting audiences to propaganda to promote a government monopoly of violence and disenfranchise citizens from natural and civil rights is demonstrably manipulative and disrespectful of viewers. It’s also dishonest with advertisers, who signed on to sponsor entertainment, not to finance causes that undermine the rights of their customers. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes the A-B-C's of a contemptible and scandalous public-private partnership.

There's the Rub

And if you don't have a "television provider"?

If this were a for-profit network, I could understand limiting viewership to paying customers. But this is C-SPAN, enjoying special access with the understanding that it provides a "public service."

How does denying live streaming access to the unfolding electoral vote not "disenfranchise"?

You Get a Vote and You Get a Vote and You Get a Vote!

The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a permanent injunction issued by U.S. District Judge Julia Robinson in 2018 and found that Kansas’s requirement to provide identification when registering to vote violates the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment as well as the National Voter Registration Act. Disenfranchise everyone who disagrees with a tyrannical agenda. And then impose illegitimate edicts under force of armed "law."

Your Papers!

Today, air travel, tomorrow, Checkpoint Charlie! [More]

They already have this crap in the southwest, where they harass everybody else while foreign invaders and cartel mules bypass it all on wilderness trails in areas posted to warn Americans from going.

Funny thing-- I don't hear anyone screaming about how requiring government ID will "disenfranchise minorities."

Like a Broken Record

Governor Lamont Introduces Comprehensive Package of Legislative Proposals on Gun Violence [More]

This sounds like a broken record. I see a lot of stuff designed to disenfranchise and harass the "law-abiding," but don't see a thing that will stop one POS predator from doing whatever he feels like doing whenever and wherever he feels like doing it.

Who thinks the record won't continue to be broken after all this?

UPDATE: Connecticut Citizen's Defense League Opposes Governor's Gun Control Initiative. For the record, I disagree with the "firearms trafficking" efforts because of this and this.

Bring That Up Again and We'll Vote On It!

Earlier today I got a text from a friend with photographs of three absentee ballot applications that came to his residence. One was addressed to him. The other two were addressed to a couple who formerly owned his home, but moved to Arizona in 2017. There is literally nothing standing in the way of his checking the third alternative on question number 4, and obtaining absentee ballots in the names of those former residents, which he could then cast, thus voting three times instead of once. Whoreganizing for Action

Just got this email:

OK, so do we get to talk back and tell the fool to go fire himself off his balcony or through the front door, or just listen to his moronic blather? Still, they've already got my edress, so why not check out what I need to do to get that exclusive "off the record" dope for dopes?

[Do I need to say "Click to enlarge" again at this point]
My edress automatically appeared. The bottom box had an asterisk, and it took a bit of trial and error to get the word "ZIP" to appear and figure what they were asking me for.

Oh, look, this is what they're asking me for (and why the hell do I need to promise "I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident of the United States"? Tell me they won't fix that when they think they can get away with it!). Let's see what happens if I just want to hear the call for free...

[You know what to do]

"0" isn't an option? If I were a minority (and how many Transylvanians do you know?), wouldn't this disenfranchise me?

You know, Obama's right. His is the most transparent administration in history.

UPDATE: Oh, look what was waiting in my inbox:

Looks like once they get a nibble, they have no intention of letting a fish go.

They're "hosting" the call on YouTube. They couldn't just say that right up front?

Now the question is, will comments be enabled?

Gunkapo of the Month

Proposed bill to tax rifles, high capacity magazines [More]
Ah, the Disproportionately Disenfranchise People of Color of Their Rights Act of 2020 -- that'll price them out of the range of "those people," at least the "law-abiding" ones. What a "progressive" idea! I wonder how "chief sponsor" Ann Gillespie looks in a pointed hood.

But the real "star" of this show is Randall Gustafson, our February 2020 Gunkapo of the Month Award recipient, "a salesman at Pro Gun & Indoor Range in Marion" who, according to this report, "says he'd support the bill if he knew which programs are being funded."

That would make a difference?

I'm wondering why any gun owner of principle would want to throw business to those subverting while profiting off our most fundamental of rights. I suppose if he claims he was misquoted, we could always ask the reporter...

What is This 'Problem' of Which You Speak?

Common reasons for ballots being rejected: voters failed to sign the envelop, the signature on the envelope doesn't match the one election offices have on file or ballots are received far after the deadline. [More]

So we're supposed to worry if those incapable of paying attention and following simple instructions "disenfranchise" themselves?

A Growing Franchise Opportunity

On Tuesday night, voter turnout was higher than it was in the last midterm cycle — a very inconvenient truth for Dems who spent months claiming the recently enacted election integrity law would disenfranchise voters. [More]

That and motivated Republican voters means Party leadership is really going to have to outdo themselves if they want to blow it...

EEOC's claim that background checks are racist must also apply to guns

If criminal background checks and requiring photo IDs really do produce unlawfully discriminatory rights-denying results, the inescapable conclusion is agents of the government are willfully, with premeditation, engaged in a criminal conspiracy to disenfranchise minorities from their right to keep and bear arms. On two different fronts. [More]
This morning's Gun Rights Examiner commentary notes the Obama administration is claiming in court that if you require criminal background checks, you may be a racist. Aside from being a great launching point for a Jeff Foxworthy parody, they're directly contradicting the position they take on guns.

Good for the Goose

Lott, who is a long-time opponent of gun control, argues that if background checks don’t limit the rights of gun owners, then they wouldn’t disenfranchise voters, either, would they? [More]
