Take a Pass

ESPN Will Not Air National Anthem During 'Monday Night Football' Broadcasts This Season [More]
What unprincipled cowards these media people are.

So if you don't see it, the kneeling didn't happen?

Stupid too, in a Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal kind'a way. Maybe the players taking a knee and ESPN subscriber should all wrap towels around their heads.

The Worldwide Ceder in Sports

It doesn't surprise me.

They've got Tegridy!

Do Not Attempt to Adjust the Picture. We are Controlling Transmission.

Why didn't TV networks show angry, booing NFL fans Sunday or Monday? ... NBC Sports, CBS Sports, Fox Sports and ESPN pay billions each year to televise live NFL games. The league saw this weekend's unprecedented anthem coverage as a golden opportunity to demonstrate unity among players, coaches and owners -- and opposition to Trump's comments. [More]
Bastards.  Commie-enabling goddamn bastards.

I'm wondering if this license abuse is beyond the purview of the FCC, and if perhaps that's a necessary evil considering the potential for abuse with the alternative.

I also had a thought about vulnerability in a "free society." I wouldn't put false flag ops past those bent on control by discrediting "deplorables." They wouldn't even need a Reichstag fire, just the "anonymous threat" of one on game day.

Don't give 'em any ideas?

You seriously think the enemies of freedom haven't figured out the logistics for all kinds of scenarios? Bracken showed how little would be needed.

Hell, in this case, there's even been a major Hollywood movie...

Now that sides have been drawn and emotions ginned to fever pitch, what did Rahm Emanuel say about a crisis going to waste?

Are "we" being set up? And would it be enough for the establishment to bring Trump down, by blaming him for inciting hate and violence?

Godwin's Law Writ Large

A woman who has had a long and successful career in journalism in a free press in a country free from genocide believes the United States is comparable to Nazi Germany. [More]

Well, Disney, The Atlantic, ESPN...

Was there a question here...? Aside from "Does this national socialist idiot 'think' she's being original?"

With Friends Like These

Per 5 Fast Facts, the conveniently pre-named "MAGAbomber's" Facebook page has been taken down, meaning we're now dependent on what he hear from "authorities" as filtered through the "media."

They haven't gotten to his Twitter page at this writing, and it certainly makes him look like the violent right wing nut job we've all been primed to expect. But there's a disconnect to explore before it's forever removed from independent examination.

Look at who he follows-- typically, those will be people you admire, agree with, want to keep apprised of and support. He doesn't follow any Republicans or "right wingers,"instead opting for CNN. Katy Perry, ESPN, Lena Dunham, Barack Obama...? Does that make sense to you?

I don't know how to format the following to fit in the Blogger template, but was able to get it over to Scribd in case the Twitter account is scrubbed:

UPDATE: Bear notes a voter registration disconnect. [Evidently not: "The case, however, did not make Sayoc a convicted felon or bar him from voting. He received a “withhold of adjudication,” which means the case did not technically count as a felony conviction."] To which he replies:
That refers to to the 2002 FP&L bomb threat case, which did not result in a felony conviction. I'm talking about his 2014 felony grand theft conviction

Lift Ev’ry Voice and Kneel

ESPN to Televise Protesting Players and Singing of Black National Anthem [More]

Since this is evidently all about the right of pampered millionaires to impose their personal sentiments on company time and in company facilities, it seems fair to ask a few questions:

If people are free to cheer afterward, are they also permitted to boo? Can they take a knee during?

Assuming you survived the mob, the alternative of having security remove you for disruption might be a basis for a lawsuit...

And naturally, those sucking up aren't sucking hard enough:

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick said NFL social justice initiatives were "propaganda" on Sunday as scattered protests marked the first full day of the 2020 season.

What have we said time and again about throwing a scrap of flesh to circling jackals...?
