We're the Only Ones Disarming Enough

St. Louis police officers reportedly seized a rifle from the husband-and-wife lawyers filmed waving firearms at Black Lives Matter protesters last month. The officers served a warrant on Mark and Patricia McCloskey on Friday night, taking the rifle the husband was pictured aiming, the local NBC affiliate reported. The officers were told by the couple that their attorney had the second gun, the pistol brandished by the wife, the report said. [More]
I don't suppose a "special relationship" with a duty to protect now exists...?

Hear that, jackals? It's safe to move in for the kill now.

Another victory in the making for a Soros DA!

Couldn't Happen to a Bigger Flake

Woman Who Ambushed Flake in Elevator Is Director of Soros-Funded Group [More]
Did he really think his stupid vote delay would somehow make "progressives"  like him?

Every time Republicans "compromise," the enemy takes it and then turns around and calls them haters to scare and squeeze even more out of them.

Every time.

The circling pack of jackals analogy is more than a metaphor.

‘Bump Stock’ Ban Bill Phony Attempt to Capitalize on Las Vegas Atrocity

This business of changing the rules as technology changes is flat-out subversive. Drawn to its logical conclusion, it would relegate us all to flintlocks and forever deny to We the People all weapons “in common use at the time” needed to fulfill our rights and duties as envisioned by the Founders. [More]
You don't throw a scrap of flesh to a circling pack of jackals and expect they'll be satisfied and leave you alone. If NRA is willing to green-light Trump and the Republicans to throw the least among us under the bus this time, who will be least next?

Cornyn’s NRA-Backed Mental Health Bill Needs to Address Key Questions

It would help if we knew what protections equivalent to those provided in a jury trial that will provide. Specifically, will decisions rely on those who may have biases of their own, as can currently be the case, with ATF’s “clarifying the term ‘adjudicated as a mental defective’ to mean a determination by a court, board, commission or other lawful authority,” and with some states applying even broader “standards”? [More]
Since when does throwing a scrap of flesh to a pack of circling jackals encourage them to do anything but close in for more? To expect otherwise is just crazy.

And They Say There Are No Stupid Questions

Oh, I don't know, Sarge. Why are you such a jackbooted f***ing oinker?

And oh look: In typical Prozi projection fashion:

There are those who would try to impose that here.  Hell, there are those who would just applaud the jackboots seizing the guns, and terminating anyone who tried to stop them.

You don't give them an inch.  Nothing. No "compromises."

Because that makes as much sense as throwing a scrap of flesh to circling jackals and expecting that will satisfy them and persuade them to leave you in peace.

Ganging Up

CNN's Savidge, Guests Gang Up on Supporter of Concealed Carry on Campus [More]
I know the feeling.

Still, if you know what you're talking about, anybody who begins their argument with "I'm from Canada" has already lost.

I see no contentions raised by the assemblage of hoplophobes that aren't the same unoriginal and hysterical talking points we deflate every day.

Still, it's telling that these circling media jackals are afraid to face a man one-on-one.  Maybe that's why the thought of a lone defender capable and equipped to repel many terrifies them so...

Sell-Out Point Man?

“What I hope we can do is get a bill passed out of the Judiciary,” Mr. Reid said. “It may not be everything everyone wants, but I hope it has some stuff in there that’s really important.” [More]
It will have nothing that will do anything but further infringe on the law-abiding and further empower the feds. Nothing.  He knows it and so do we.

What's the bill of goods some argued as an excuse not to pay Reid back for his confirmation betrayals? That we need him in that spot because he will keep bills from getting to the floor?

This is sweet. Now he can do his new master's bidding, as well as his old.  Expect him to push forward  preemptive surrender legislation already agreed to by self-interested deal-makers, under the excuse that it will help keep really, really BAD things from happening. And he's already greasing the skids.

If, instead, what was being pushed was the message that we will not be scapegoated, that the effort needs to be on ending gun free zones, and that any politician who betrays us will be targeted for removal, the House wouldn't dare pass firearm and magazine bans, so what happened in Reid's Senate wouldn't matter.

So why would the gun community/industry "leadership" give in on universal registration and blanket mental health dragnets? It's because the well-heeled and connected believe we need to toss the circling jackals a scrap of flesh so they can act like they've won something.  The understanding also evidently precludes embarrassing the Republican establishment -- it's not like Old Yellowstain's balls are anywhere but in his hand, and it's not like his Senate counterparts aren't overcome by the vapors.

Obama's played and won at chicken with this group enough times to know their mettle.  He also knows that scrap will work in politics just like it does in nature.

It's up to us to head all that off.

Enforce Existing Intolerable Acts!

The "pro-gun" position is strengthening NICS? So we should be arguing prior restraint as a legitimate power for those whose only clear instruction on the matter is "shall not be infringed"? [Watch]

Dershowitz and his ilk want it all. Giving them anything is equivalent to throwing a scrap of flesh to circling jackals on the assumption they'll leave you alone.

Some of us aren't backing down from "Repeal existing Intolerable Acts."

And until that happens, defy them.

Exclusive: What Happens In Vegas…

Once bump stocks have been given up, what surrender will be demanded next? Will those doing the demanding be emboldened or discouraged by those who cede without a fight? Can a pack of circling jackals be persuaded to leave you alone by offering a compromise and throwing them a scrap of flesh? [More]
We know the goals and we know the intentions of those who would disarm Americans to establish a monopoly of violence. We know they’ll never be satisfied to let what happened in Vegas stay in Vegas.

My newest  GUNS Magazine "Rights Watch" column is now online.

More Like 'Red Herring Laws'

Research shows that any group of people identified as future violent criminals will contain many more who will not be violent (false positives) than they will (true positives). More true positives mean more false ones. Such groups also fail to identify many future violent criminals (false negatives). [More]
The article is behind a paywall but that's the crux of it.

So not only won't they work while abusing the rights of the innocent but the circling jackals smelling blood won't be satisfied.

In other words, Republicans, who gun owners in large part put in power, are lettingTeam Totalitarian advance another increment toward the goal, even though they know it's all a big con job.

So Much for Appeasement

New Debra Rodman TV Ad Blasts NRA ‘A’ Rated VA State Senator Siobhan Dunnavant for Pretending to Support Gun Violence Prevention [More]
Like I said.

You can't throw a scrap of flesh to a circling pack of jackals and expect anything other than this. Why do so many gutless Republicans appear incapable of grasping that truth?

Meanwhile, Over at the Vidkun Quisling Fan Club

NSSF continues to urge lawmakers and regulators alike to remember that there is a bipartisan solution advanced by the gun industry — strengthening our current background check system ... NSSF has committed itself to FixNICS.  And we’re not alone – even Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns actually agrees with us. [More]
How telling. With friends like these...

So much for:
WE WON’T STAND FOR SCAPEGOATING
NO NEW GUN LAWS
DENY SUCCESS TO MASS MURDERERS BY ABOLISHING PHONY ‘GUN-FREE’ VICTIM / KILLER ENABLING ZONES NOW
WORK WITH US OR WE WILL WORK TO RETIRE YOU
There has been a "leadership" contingent eager since Day One after Newtown to come up with a sacrificial goat to give to government. We also saw an under-the-bus candidate search by manufacturers who have traditionally been eager to protect their interests and the hell with everyone else's. These are the ones apologists would have us keep quiet about when they urge us that we need to stand together -- as if the divisiveness is coming from the SNBI crowd. I'm sure Fairfax would have caved by now if not for our rude, strident voices...

It's simple. You don't throw a scrap of flesh to circling jackals and think they'll go away. You don't give the enemy a beachhead from which they can launch their next assault deeper into the interior. And while Polyphemus may have promised to eat you last, eat you he most certainly will, particularly after you've served up the ones hardening a sharpened pole in the fire...

The World is Not Enough

Socialist students 'disrupt’ campus...even after school bows to their demands- Columbia University recently bowed to the Young Democratic Socialists of America’s demands for increased financial aid. Nevertheless, students hosted a rally and a sit-in to "disrupt" campus. [More]

Of course, partial capitulation is not enough: That's why we call 'em "totalitarians." Imagine a "circling pack of jackals" and how likely they'd be to disperse if you threw them a scrap of flesh, as opposed to becoming emboldened sensing weakness and fear, and moving in closer.

Who thinks these are just DSA "solidarity songs"?

Poor, underprivileged Columbia students...

All Not as It Seems

Though Valimont and Sparks may seem to be on opposite sides of the gun-reform discussion, their views are remarkably similar. [More]
They're both prior restraint gun-grabbers, but one evidently believes you can throw scraps to jackals to make them go away and that Polyphemus will eat him last.

I'd suggest gun owners might spend their instruction dollars elsewhere, but my feelings were so hurt the last time I left my lane...

Gentleman's Agreement

Senate Democrats ended a nearly 15-hour filibuster early Thursday after Republican Party leaders reportedly agreed to allow votes on two proposed gun control measures. [More]
Who, specifically? And will we see any downgrading of their NRA ratings? Because if we don't, we'll be able to infer they knew they could proceed with cover.

We'll also be able to tell much along those lines after the votes.

This compromising is bullshit. I've written before about how after Sandy Hook, there was a cadre of connected insiders trying to get everyone on board with the "we've got to give them something" preemptive surrender.  Some of us let it be known in closed group correspondence that we'd be pointing fingers and screaming if that happened.

It would appear that same faction is once more counseling that the politically smart thing to do is throw the circling jackals a scrap of flesh to persuade them to go away. You know, just like it happens in nature.

Not that It Will Gain them Anything

Congressional Republicans, under pressure to respond to this weekend’s massacres, appear to be coalescing around legislation to help law enforcement to take guns from those who pose an imminent danger — a measure that, if signed into law, would be the most significant gun safety legislation enacted in 20 years. [More]
And they'll still be smeared as racist "gun lobby" whores with blood on their hands.

Yeah, go ahead and take the fire out of a critical mass of core supporter bellies to feed the enemy jackals a pound of flesh.  See if it persuades them to go away sated, or if instead, smelling fear and tasting blood, they decide they want more.

God forbid any of these poltroons should actually understand the Second Amendment and use their bully pulpits to educate their constituents.

Well That Oughtta Make the Jackals Go Away

Gov. Colyer signs measure to keep guns out of hands of domestic abusers [More]
Sure it will.

But if that doesn't give him a leg up in the competiton, I just don't know my Fairfax.  Especially with Kobach calling to arm teachers.

Eat More Crow

Do they really think they'll be "forgiven" by those who want to destroy them? Jackals sensing weakness close in for the kill. It's the same as when our "leaders" "compromise" on guns.

And in the meantime, those who patronized them because, in addition to the food they felt a kinship, no longer have that reason.

In fairness, look at the way CNNEsquire, and others went out of their way to amplify SPLC smears.

Why Don't They Like Me?

I gave them what they wanted... [Read]

Hey, if they respected whores, they wouldn't use them in the first place.

Get this, gunquislings contemplating appeasement: compromise will not buy you anything.

It will give the enemy a beachhead from which to plan and launch their next assault.  What do they have to do, spell it out for you?

When surrounded by circling jackals, there are few dumber ideas than tossing them a scrap of flesh in the hopes that it will satisfy them and induce them to go away and leave you alone.

Biden meets with gun ‘stakeholders’ as ‘civil’ sell-outs begin

“Let’s agree to require the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) at gun shows,” the release further advocates. “NRA’s Wayne LaPierre supported this to Congress back in May 1999. Our proposal is called the Gun Show Preservation and Protection Act of 2013.” [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report questions how offering chunks of raw flesh to circling jackals works in nature.
