Gunkapo of the Month

Proposed bill to tax rifles, high capacity magazines [More]
Ah, the Disproportionately Disenfranchise People of Color of Their Rights Act of 2020 -- that'll price them out of the range of "those people," at least the "law-abiding" ones. What a "progressive" idea! I wonder how "chief sponsor" Ann Gillespie looks in a pointed hood.

But the real "star" of this show is Randall Gustafson, our February 2020 Gunkapo of the Month Award recipient, "a salesman at Pro Gun & Indoor Range in Marion" who, according to this report, "says he'd support the bill if he knew which programs are being funded."

That would make a difference?

I'm wondering why any gun owner of principle would want to throw business to those subverting while profiting off our most fundamental of rights. I suppose if he claims he was misquoted, we could always ask the reporter...

With Friends Like These

How A Proud Gun Owner Running For Congress Became The ‘Enemy Number 1’ Of The NRA [More]
By being a gunkapo?

And Enemy Number 1?  Hey guy, the line wraps around the block.  Get in the back of it and wait your turn.

One of the lying tactics fascists at sites like Opposite Day Think Progress pull is recounting the guy's "pro-gun" achievements. like they approve of them. So they show the guy being a hunter, just to con the Fudds.

Separating makes targets easier to pick off.

Halfway Measures

David Mark Williams, a farmer in Halfway, Ore., described guns as “a tool. If you’re hunting or living a rural lifestyle, you’re going to have a firearm.” But Williams, who came to Washington this fall with MoveOn.org to meet with members of both parties, said he resigned his NRA membership after its president opposed stricter gun laws in the aftermath of the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. [More]
Yeah, present a Prozi as a typical "reasonable" gun owner. Using MoveOn shills is an old damn trick, one WaPo is happy to exploit. If I were a gun dealer and this gunkapo came in, I'd tell him to get the hell out of my store.

The bottom line is, nothing will change in terms of reducing "gun violence" because they're dealing with the wrong end of the spectrum. And while there will definitely be new burdens on the "law-abiding," there may also be an unintended consequence that Obama's legal fine tooth combers never thought of. I don't want to say any more just yet, lest they sidestep a pitfall. Depending on what he imposes, I'll either say more about that later or I won't.

Mike the Gunkapo

He's at it again, making the case that concealed carry hasn't had a measurable deterrent effect in Newark, or some such, and therefore we shouldn't let you carry a gun. [More]

And this guy demands equal time from me?

It's telling to see the only real attacks on John Lott are all ad hominem.

I wouldn't be surprised to find him in negotiations with Armatix just so he can torpedo those people in New Jersey he acts like he cares so much about and become a hero.  I understand why his shop still has customers, Masshole Fudds and all, but what I don't understand is why any gun or ammo maker would continue to supply him.

And why NRA continues to do so as well.

Jabbarwocky

The argument escalated and Abdul-Jabbar is accused of stabbing the man multiple times with a large hunting knife, including in the back of the head, causing a fractured skull and a brain bleed, the DA’s Office said. [More]

Maybe that explains Gunkapo Lew's affinity disarming other people.

Hey kid, courtroom tip: Pretend to struggle to get the gloves on. Works every time.

Taking Care of Number One and the Hell with the Rest of You

So Hillary wasn’t that great a danger to gun rights. The next logical question: which candidate would make me the most money? [More]
The dangers of executive orders, Supreme Court nominations and control of the bully pulpit evidently escape this genius...?

Is this a click bait piece written for effect to stir up the readers, or is he seriously a gunkapo?

So are we talking the same guy here? Is this his name?

 Will Hayden?

Sure looks like he's part of the team. A regular part. I sent Robert an email yesterday asking him, and if he'd care to comment. The answer is either "No" or my inquiry got auto-dumped to his spam folder.

I'd suggest the obvious, but I'm skeered of getting Grant and Rob mad at me again...

SEE UPDATE.

AND UPDATE TWO. (It is NOT Zev Nadler.)

AND ANOTHER POSSIBILITY.

ALSO: New speculation is that it's an FFL from Melbourne, and I've been told by someone I trust that it is him-- but because I can't provide definitive proof, I won't name him.

Well, You Got the 'Simple' Part Right

The idea is simple but powerful: a federally issued license for simple possession of all semi-automatic firearms. [More]
No.

A longer answer is two words and starts with "F."

Your move, gunkapo.

The Gunkapo Hoplophobe

"I don't have an issue with business owners having guns for self protection. I'm a gun owner myself," one person commented on the post. "I have issue with customers being encouraged to carry guns in your establishment. Too much potential for accidents. Even the most trained people have gun accidents, and people who carry in public without training and a permit scare me." [More]
Master is pleased.

Speaking of Fantasies

Mike the Gunkapo disparages DGUs in a way that's sure to impress the militantly ignorant, that is, the minority of his readership that actually believes he knows what he's talking about. [More]

I wouldn't be surprised to find most of his column visitors are pro-gunners looking to see how much more obnoxious the guy can make himself, and if there's anything they need to do to counter his BS.

Case in point -- the DGU I had 20+ years ago in CA went unreported. Not only did simply producing end the encounter without further incident, that is, without the bloodshed the antis seem to crave and demand, had I called the police, I'd have ended up behind bars, as a mundane can't get a "permit" in L.A. to save his life -- literally.

I heard he stopped selling firearms, but he still is registered as site owner at Ware Guns. Anyone who takes classes from him is giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Couldn't Happen to a Nicer Guy

Roseville advocate for gun laws swiped cops’ identities for illegal weapons sales [More]

I may make an exception on punishment for "gun law violations" in his case.

What gets me are all those California gun owners who knew what this gunkapo was yet continued to give him their business.

Have You Seen Me?

He does kind'a resemble a certain Massachusetts gunkapo...

Gunkapo of the Month

Would it surprise you to learn that Heidemann, “is an avid firearms enthusiast and competitive shooter, holding a federal firearms license.” [More]
No.

It Made Loud Noise. I Cried.

But mostly, I was just terrified. [More]
Does Julia have you Pajama Boys pegged, or what?

Great last name there, Gersh. Talk about an aptronym.

If he actually said what he's quoted as saying, this Frank Stelmach of Double Tap Shooting Range and Gun Shop is a gunkapo who just sold us out in our time of need. Let's hope gun owners remember when it comes time to consider who deserves their patronage loyalty.  Yeah, Frank, the New York Daily News really cares about you trying to look like you're "reasonable." What were you thinking of, even talking to them? They just used you, useful idiot.

I see he's realized that and is trying to walk it back and do damage control.  He either said what he said, and context hardly matters, or he didn't. He'd have more credibility if he posted his correspondence to and from the propagandist on the matter. There should be either a recording or contemporaneous notes to corroborate who is claiming what.

Dispatch from the Front Lines

From WarOnGuns Correspondent Dave Licht:
Just got back from the Martinez, CA / Mark Desaulniers / Mike Thompson town hall meeting.
Most of “our” crowd was pretty dowdy and seemingly old.  Many of the commie mommies were in red shirts that were missing their mao collars.
What a staged event for media tools! It was all a dog and pony show for HR-8. The promotional materials on the tables were from Giffords moms not deferential to men. Huge contagion in red t-shirts in the front section and peppered throughout the crowd.
No one actually got to speak (unless they were a favored tool) questions were submitted, read and commented on except with the alleged FFL / Republican tool who couldn’t get enough regulation.
Is it possible that all the questions submitted by firearms / anti-registrationists are inarticulate, belabored and off point while all questions from moms demand communism are succinct? One has to wonder.
There was an alleged FFL front row center in full support of the legislation and wanting to demand more. I came home and looked him up and he went out of business last year but WHAT AN [redacted] and seemingly typical of the pro-gun crowd in attendance ( that submitted questions).
The Giffords material states that 93% of the U.S. population supports universal registration and then Mike Thompson kept repeating that “86% of the NRA support this bill” (though I have never seen that poll finding reported) [You never will because it's a lie.--DC]
Also, they said that the reason the child-killers took the Nov election is because the country wants gun control and that they have already heard HR 8 in committee, next week a vote on the floor and they “expect to pass it in the first hundred days of the Congress.”
This meeting was a media sham for gun control. There is NO HOPE FOR Kalifornistan. Period.
Naturally, my curiosity was piqued about the gunkapo.

It's this guy:
Dublin gun dealer Mike Grant said California has been doing background checks for years, and he supports them. He said without background checks, guns could end up in the hands of people who shouldn't have them. And should that person commit a crime he said, "it just makes the gun dealers, all of us, take more heat."
...Grant said he'd like to see the nation go even further by adopting more of the state's strict gun control laws, including lifetime bans for some people who commit domestic violence or exhibit mental illness.
Here's his business.

If it quacks like a police state apologist...

I'm trying to figure out why any gun owner who cares about his rights would give this guy the time of day, let alone his business. For some reason, the phrase "aid and comfort to the enemy" comes to mind...

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome isn't Enough for You Guys?

Mila Kunis Trolled Vice President Mike Pence and Now Some Pro-Lifers Are Boycotting Jim Beam [More]
That's because she's from the part of the family that wasn't aborted, with "global relevance to our Make History™ campaign."

You'd think coming from a Jewish family that emigrated from the USSR that she'd have more reverence for history that's already been made -- and more respect for the culture her family chose to become part of.  Instead, she's a Hillary-supporting gunkapo, as is her "raw talent" husband.

Plenty of other cheap rotgut out there, although I prefer going up a notch. Regardless, it won't cause any hardship for me to give my business to someone who doesn't give aid and comfort to the enemy.

Speaking of Dumb

An advocate of gun buyback programs, Mike Weisser, the author of “Mike The Gun Guy,” which describes itself as a magazine with news and notes from both sides about guns, called the bill “the single dumbest piece of legislation enacted anywhere in the United States.” [More]
To be fair, gunkapo Weisser is somewhat of an expert on dumb gun legislation...

The Math is Staggering

Instances of “defensive gun use” – ie a good guy with a gun who made a difference – accounted for less than 3%.
“The math is staggering,” Bryant said. [More]
Yeah, I guess if you want to be a typical bloodthirsty "progressive" and use VPC's "Just one gun death per every 32 criminal gun killings" criteria, and ignore valid survey results of DGUs where no shot is fired and everything is resolved with acts of physical aggression thwarted, then, yeah. That way, the liars can misrepresent the complete picture with deceptive headlines and propaganda pieces claiming "New study shows guns rarely used for self-defense."

It's hardly a "new study," so much as a repackaging of an old steaming pile the antis dig up ever few years for a new audience of unsuspecting marks.

As for Bryan't "baloney" that "it doesn’t make sense to not report that to law enforcement," it does when doing so could open you up for legal liabilities, as I personally experienced back when I couldn't get a "permit," literally, to save my life.

If I owned a gun store or range in Kentucky and this gunkapo walked in, I'd tell him to get the hell off my property

Gunkapo

But as a gun owner and outdoorsman, I also have no concerns with expanded background checks or limits on the kinds of firearms an individual can own. Civilians don’t need military-style assault rifles, which are nothing but tools for killing people. Civilians don’t need easier access to silencers or armor-piercing bullets, either... [More]
I have more contempt for PolitiFudds than I do for MILMs.
