'A Chicago Man'

A Chicago man who allegedly had a gun on a Greyhound bus and led police on a chase along Interstate 94 from the Racine, Wis., area to Route 173 in northern Lake County, was being held without bail Sunday in the Lake County jail. [More]
There's something missing from this story.

But what?

And why?

Ah well, who is "just a blogger" to question the editorial decisions of News-Sun Contact Reporter Jim Newton after noting "Madeline Buckley, Deanese Williams-Harris and Katherine Rosenberg-Douglas of the Chicago Tribune contributed to this report"?

Environmentalcase Hypocrisy

Environmentalists say wall plan poses threat to Arizona wildlife, waterways [More]
And this does not?

Remember when Clinton appointee Colleen Kollar-Kotelly ruled in favor of the Bradys, presuming authority to deny our right to possess the means of defense until an "environmental impact study" had been performed to say it was OK?

Funny-- since her ruling was never overturned by a higher court (a Congressional rider on a credit card bill allowed it instead), stare decisis ought to still apply over executive actions in her district.  Anybody know if environmental impact studies have been done on the deliberate bypassing of all those lawfully-enacted immigration laws? What about a precedent-based lawsuit?

And it's not just desert trash, that just provides for a telling visual but it's a small part of the overall impact. More energy needs to be generated, more infrastructure is needed, more cars are on the road "thanks" to driver's licenses for illegals, more trash and sewage is generated everywhere they go...

Democrats care as much about the environment as they do about racism-- what they care about is if they can exploit an issue to seize more power.

Misinformation?

Fact check: Did the coronavirus originate in a Chinese laboratory? [More]
Agreed, it's incumbent on accusers to back up their allegations.

If only I could believe USA Today...

UPDATE [Via Wynn A]: On the other hand, we have Francis Boyle, a professor of international law at the University of Illinois College of Law, who "believes the virus is potentially lethal and an offensive biological warfare weapon or dual-use biowarfare weapons agent genetically modified with gain of function properties, which is why the Chinese government originally tried to cover it up and is now taking drastic measures to contain it. The Wuhan BSL-4 lab is also a specially designated World Health Organization (WHO) research lab and Dr. Boyle contends that the WHO knows full well what is occurring."

Note if his interpretation is attacked, see how much of the rebuttal focuses on what he's claiming as opposed to on his "contrarian" politics.

If true, it looks like there's plenty of incentive on both sides to suppress this information.

UPDATE [Via Michael G]: And then we have the Stanford epidemiologist, who argues the overreaction is "like an elephant being attacked by a house cat." If he's attacked, see how much of the rebuttal focuses on what he's claiming as opposed to his hair.

Coming Soon to a Cartel Territory Near You

A team of gunmen entered a restaurant to execute a local police chief in the Mexican State of Chihuahua. The attack appears to be an escalation of the violence between the Juarez and the Sinaloa Cartels for regional control. [More]
You mean stuff like this could start happening in "sanctuary cities"?

Mr. Benny warns against a snap judgment.

Shoot, a Fella Could Have a Pretty Good Weekend in Vegas with All That Stuff

Inside the weapons cache, authorities found several sets of body armor with the Z/ CDN logo painted on them, four .308 caliber FAL rifles, two AK-47 rifles, more than 800 rounds of ammunition, and radio communications equipment. [More]
That's a "stockpile"?

Why does a Slim Pickens line from Dr. Strangelove come to mind?

And of course I wonder if there's a Gunwalker nexus.

All We are Saying is Give Peace a Chance

"Officer Thiry is credited with ending Mr. Freeman's rampage that night," EPD Sgt. Jason Cullum said to ABC News. "That is a testament to the skill and the calmness that officer Thiry displayed that night in bringing peace back to that neighborhood." [More]
So "weapons of war" when morally deployed can "bring peace"?

If used by anyone, or do you need some sort of official recognition?

I found a Facebook page I believe belonged to the maniac that gives no clue as to ideology.  Give it a few and I'm sure a scapegoat will be found.

Trouble in Paradise

Two Honolulu police officers are dead, one woman was injured, two other women are missing, and seven Diamond Head homes were destroyed after a man who was being evicted allegedly stabbed a Hibiscus Drive homeowner, shot at responding officers, and started a fire that quickly spread throughout the neighborhood this morning. [More]

A Czech national with three restraining orders against him...?

What can I say but "rigorous" and "there oughta be a law"?

Situational Obliviousness

A Dingmans Ferry, Pa., driver was jailed after police say that during a vehicle stop on Route 206, a trooper observed ammunition and a weapons case on his passenger’s seat -- and later found assault rifles and high capacity ammunition. [More]
I'm sorry if I seem unsympathetic, but how the hell does a gun owner reach age 69 and not know right-across-the-river New Jersey's gonna getcha if you don't watch out?

¿Cómo se Dice 'Pandemia' en Español?

A 61-year-old woman with multiple myeloma, a cancer of plasma cells, and diabetes died of pneumonia in a Mexico City hospital on Monday evening, becoming the first female coronavirus fatality in Mexico and the fifth overall. She returned to Mexico from Spain on March 17 and developed coronavirus symptoms the next day. The other four people to have died also had existing health problems such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity. [More]
Did any just die from Coronavirus?

I get it might have pushed them over the edge. How close to it were they, and what other common ailments that we don't shut everything down over could have done the same thing?

Besides, it's not like they don't have a handle on the essentials down there.

We're the Only Ones on Thin ICE Enough

A Homeland Security Investigations agent from Murrieta has been convicted in federal court of aiding a Mexican national with a criminal record to re-enter the United States, an action federal agents said was done at the bidding of the leader of a Southern California organized crime group. [More]

Good site, by the way. Eminently bookmarkworthy.

As Seen on the Internet

I don't know who to credit for this but it does express a fundamental truth. We're not the ones who keep squeezing.

Seeing the attorney general smear those who will not accept totalitarian dictats -- and seeing how those who do are being equated with those it is "acceptable" to take out without due process -- make it clear that the provocations are designed to elicit responses. It begins with the low-hanging fruit, and if provocateurs succeed in engineering a destructive enough act, the DSM will have no problem, at least for the time being, of convincing a low-information public that extreme responses are not only appropriate but something to demand.

I wonder how many have considered that may not work out as planned.

[Via Wynn A]

UPDATE: Looks like a plan is coming together. I don't suppose it's in the totalitarian wannabe's interests to try what better men than them had reason to believe would work...

South of the Border, Down Mexico Way

Mexican authorities seized 50 AK-47 rifles, 6,500 ammunition rounds, a jeweled handgun, tactical gear, and cash hidden inside a tractor-trailer headed for southern Mexico. [More]
If they're semi-autos, it would be interesting to see if there's a Fast and Furious tie-in. If they're real AKs they're automatics, meaning they're being obtained from sources other than within the U.S. That would further demonstrate the fraud that our "lax gun laws" are what cartels take advantage of in order to arm up, and that the entire premise behind walking guns was a damnable and premeditated  lie.

Most of the guns are coming up the same way all those "refugees" the Mexican government is trying to flood us with (in violation of their own immigration laws) do.

Remember this?

How about this?

Some of us do, but not enough.

Some of us are still demanding answers.

But not enough.

We're the Only Ones Most Recently Reflecting Enough

According to the Utah Law Enforcement Memorial website, the 37-year-old deputy had stopped a vehicle and was approaching it when she was shot at with a high-power rifle, where one of the rounds passed through her body armor and inflicted a fatal wound. [More]

Forget that her killer was a deported illegal alien, which for some reason didn't make it into the "most recent reflection" by "Retired Police Officer - NYPD" -- we have "Only Ones" talking points to exploit here. If only weapons of war weren't easier to buy than books and vegetables.

But it Ain't Over 'til it's Over

A federal judge has declared a mistrial in the case against Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying U.S. prosecutors willfully withheld critical and "potentially exculpatory" evidence from the defense. [More]
Sounds good. But the judge admitting that "evidence that was withheld could have been favorable to the accused and could have affected the outcome of the case" raises a big red flag for me.

Acting Nevada U.S. Attorney Steven Myhre certainly comes across like a major villain in this story.

True Regardless

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the carrier of the plague. You have unbarred the gates of Rome to him."
Whether Cicero said it and when is up for debate. That does not alter the truth of the observation.

Good for the Goose

A gunman who shot and wounded another man during an attempted robbery in the Goose Island neighborhood Sunday morning was himself shot and killed moments later, Chicago police said ... It remains unclear who shot the suspected gunman.  [More]

Judging from the "Safety and Crime" map that so stands out in terms of incidents from the city that surrounds it, could there be a "vigilante" who sees the utter inability of the government to deal with things and is not about to let his AO be overrun and turned into a sh**hole by scumbag predators?

The Goose Island Guardian...?

Those Who Can Do

A big victory for the Trump administration as a federal appeals court rules today the Department of Justice (DOJ) can withhold funding from sanctuary cities and states refusing to cooperate with administration’s immigration enforcement. [More]
So will we see immediate action? Or do we need to wait for SCOTUS, and will the threat of riots be used as a pre-election gun to the head?

The Prepared Samaritan

Court paperwork filed Tuesday said an armed good Samaritan stopped an attack on a runner on a popular trail near Rainey Street last week. [More]
Sure beats being an unarmed good Samaritan...

Austin, eh?

I can't help but wonder about the damsel in distress, apparently in Condition White and thinking a whistle would do the trick, specifically about what she thought of armed citizens the day before the attack...

We're the Only Ones Home-Wrecking Enough

A SWAT team destroyed a Greenwood Village family’s home. Now, a federal appeals court says police don’t have to pay for the damage. [More]
Glad to be of service, citizens. Carry on.

Dancing in the Dark

House Speaker Paul Ryan’s closed-door announcement of slipping amnesty for nearly 800,000 illegal aliens covered by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program into an end-of-the-year spending deal comes less than a month after a DACA recipient has been accused of murder. [More]
I don't care when it comes. The fact that it's coming at all is a betrayal of every American who voted for Trump based on his campaign immigration promises.

Good thing none of this has anything to do with that "single issue."
