Criminals Need Not Apply

The bill would require gun owners in the Keystone State to register their firearms with the Pennsylvania State Police. Owners would have to provide the police with the make, model, and the serial numbers of all their guns. [More]
Boy, you guys are in for it now.

Red Flag Rising

Andrew Cuomo Signs Gun Confiscation Into Law in New York [More]

Which is why we need Commie-Sense Totalitarian Safety Laws.

Founding Intent

Their function is to sustain a modern fighting force that does not consist of professional soldiers but of civilians who are able and willing to defend their communities. They are in fact a check and balance to an overreaching tyrannical government. [More]
Which pretty much makes legislation infringing on that capability a deliberate weakening of the security of a free State, and an act of treason...

Moms Command Action

As radical terrorist groups continue to wreak havoc around Afghanistan, a group of women are taking up arms against them. [More]
You know what they really need to be effective against the "patriarchy"? Pussy hats and loud mouths!

I'm reminded of a timeless assertion by Neal Knox:

Come Together Right Now Over Me

During Tuesday’s hearing on confiscatory red flag laws, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said, “every right has limits.” Graham supports red flag laws, and in early March, he told CNN the confiscatory laws represent a place Republicans and Democrats can “come together” on gun control.  [More]
He say "One and one and one is three."

One thing I can tell you is that these guys agree.

We're the Only Ones Getting Carried Away with Our Work Enough

A statewide manhunt was launched Tuesday after deputies say a Katy ISD police officer was abducted by a fellow cop. [More]
Let the average cud-chewer see Office Reyes with a gun and they shrug it off. Let them see you with a gun and let the bladder releasing begin.

We need to do what we can to change that societal perception, particularly in light of leg-furrowing hoplophobes like Chris Matthews dominating their sources for opinions. Which is why I continually give attention to the "Only Ones" files...

This is the Day of the Expanding Man

Democrats Expand the Number & Types of Prohibited Possessors, to Limit 2nd Amendment [More]

Coming Soon to a Caliphate Near You

Muslim groups in Malaysia and Indonesia have called for a boycott of Starbucks because of the coffee chain's support for LGBT rights. [More]
What, you mean this and this are not enough? Nothing short of total submission or death will be enough...?

Hey, if you're not tolerant and inclusive enough to virtue signal your welcoming of such diversity, you must be a hater, a Nazi and a fascist.

Do the Math

The mathematics that I’ve cited don’t bode well for the gun-grabbing collectivists. [More]
No, they don't, but they do show why the totalitarian wannabes fear and hate us so.

I'd like to see someone work this out by state.

We're the Only Ones Falsely Positive Enough

A specially trained drug-sniffing dog was alerted to the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, and a preliminary test done by the police officers further tested positive for a controlled dangerous substance.  [More]
Does that mean the dog responded to a hand signal and the JBTs figured they'd rather see the lie through than admit they ... uh...screwed something other than the pooch?

An Incremental Amendment

This needs support. Contact your Reps. and get them to support it.

AMENDMENT TO H.R. 3093, AS REPORTED OFFERED BY MR. GINGREY OF GEORGIA

At the end of the bill (before the short title), insert the following:

TITLE VII—ADDITIONAL GENERAL PROVISIONS SEC. 701. None of the funds
appropriated by this Act may be used by the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to pay the compensation of employees of
the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to test and examine
firearms without written and published testing standards.

Yeah, in lieu of defunding and jailing them, I guess this is an incremental step in the right direction. But while we're amending this, here's one other clause that needs to be struck:

Provided further, That none of the funds appropriated herein shall be available to investigate or act upon applications for relief from Federal firearms disabilities under 18 U.S.C. 925(c)
Why the hell not? Whose bright idea was this in the first place, who wants to retain it, and what is their reason for doing so, aside from their just being jerks?

That All Depends on the Meaning of the Term "Due Process"

Members of the Legislature’s Criminal Justice Committee have voted to allow a bill to be considered this session that would require police to seize all guns in the possession of a person charged with a domestic violence offense. [More]
Charged.

Just add a dash of bipolar suspicion/jilted love and watch the fireworks begin!

Panic in Orlando!

Panic Sets In!
Since 1987, more than a million Floridians have received concealed-weapon permits. Should I be allowed to carry a gun, too?

It's a life-and-death responsibility with no experience needed.
Yeah, that's the funny thing about life and death, isn't it? We're given brains and have access to resources, and then have to make free-will decisions, often with very little control of the situation we're thrust in.

Welcome to the human experience, nitwit. How many more years were you going to call yourself an adult before figuring this out?

Justifying the PSH
Recent complaints to state officials pointed out that almost anyone who wants to carry a handgun to the movies, mall or church can do so. The shortcomings they cited include training that allows firing bullets without gunpowder, and passing students for merely pulling the trigger once or twice without ever loading or unloading a handgun.
Well, that's not good. But there's no indication it was widespread and there's every indication it was a violation of rules, and that swift and sure steps were taken to self-correct and eliminate shortcutting.

So amidst all "Authorized Journalist" Henry Pierson Curtis' wailing and gnashing of teeth (and the not so subtle attempt to fan the flames of hysteria against the parking lot bill), a few key questions are missing, foremost among them just where the hell the true problems with firearms abuse occur, and what kind of mayhem record have the people who have been going through the process he's wringing his panties over established over the years?

Sheets Removed from UT Dorm

University of Texas regents have stripped the name of a former law school professor and early organizer of the Ku Klux Klan from a campus dormitory. [More]
So when can we expect the Southern Poverty Law center to demand the same thing happen to all those monuments to "Sheets" Byrd out in W VA?

Probably just as soon as "hatriot" accuser Bill Clinton stops making excuses for him...

And "fleeting association" my @$$:
West Virginia's Democratic United States Senator Robert C. Byrd was a recruiter for the Klan while in his 20s and 30s, rising to the title of Kleagle and Exalted Cyclops of his local chapter. After leaving the group, Byrd spoke in favor of the Klan during his early political career. Though he claimed to have left the organization in 1943, Byrd wrote a letter in 1946 to the group's Imperial Wizard stating "The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia." Byrd defended the Klan in his 1958 U.S. Senate campaign when he was 41 years old.
Decades, Clinton, you damned liar. Decades.

And speaking of the wretched SPLC, Vanderboegh has two posts about their latest disconnects from anything honorable and truthful. See here and here.

Feeling Slighted

"Is Tennessee 'Chopped Liver' with the NRA?" [More]
Now c'mon, guys. What other national gun rights group would devote two whole paragraphs of an interview with Bill Frist (purported as highlighting his commitment to RKBA) to discuss the Titans' season prospects?

Heller Respondent's Brief

Today, attorneys challenging Washington, D.C’s 31-year-old gun prohibition laws filed their written arguments in the U.S. Supreme Court. Washington, D.C. bans the possession of handguns outright, and further forbids rifles and shotguns from ever being operable in private homes for use in self-defense.
They include a link to the .pdf file of the brief.

I do wish they'd mentioned William Rawle, as well as the Preamble to the Bill of Rights, especially with all the focus they put on the Second Amendment's and statutory preambles.
