Just to monkeywrench one collectivist meme with another, I'd like to see someone offer an amendment to require public tabulation of the demographics (race, sex, income, age, education, etc.) benefiting from this "tax credit." [Read]

Ain't It the Truth?
I've found the truth is generally elegantly to the point. Like this.
I got this in an email so I don't know who to credit.
Old Blue, Is That You Boy?
Brian F heard my lament about no dog on the porch, so he added one:
Mom says I can keep him.
Now we'll just have to see if Humphrie the Carni-pig lets him live.

I'm Ba...ack
The service tech came out and hopefully figured out what kept making me lose internet connectivity--anyway, after being essentially grounded all day yesterday and most of the day before, I've got a lot of catch-up to do, so please hold off on comments and correspondence for at least another day. Chances are I'm going to have to just send most people emailing me this link so they know not to expect me to give them a tailored reply, I am that far behind the eight-ball on priorities.
Obama gun speech shows misdirection, desperation and weakness
These are the two major legal changes gun rights advocates must fight tooth and nail, and remind their representatives that they will not be scapegoated, and will revenge themselves at the polls on any politician who betrays them and the oath of office. Also among Obama’s legislative proposals is a plan to ban possession of currently owned militia-suitable ("armor piercing") ammunition.Today's Gun Rights Examiner report picks apart what the Subversive-in-Chief said and wonders about what he didn't say.
But also representing a danger are the previously “under the radar” incursions that are now threatening to drop their payloads on strategic targets. [More]

Gone Fishin'
My internet access is so intermittent I can't get any work done today. The tech is due out tomorrow morning. Please hold off on comments and emails.
I'm so damn frustrated with this--I've got half a dozen articles I wanted to write that I can't even do my basic research on, not to mention hundreds of correspondences building up -- and today of all days, with the Big Obamination announcing his latest spraying on the Bill of Rights.
Ah well, I do have a book to read for potential review, so at least the day won't be a total waste.

"Wild Gun Rhetoric"
Any mention of regulation and the cry goes up – "Get them now before they are taken away!" – though no one is talking about confiscating firearms. [More]I don't even have words for such a shameless lie. I guess that means they're going to keep pushing until words don't factor into things.
A Well-Balanced Republican
“It is well-balanced, it protects the Second Amendment,” said Senate Republican leader Dean Skelos of Long Island. [More]This must be what they mean by "bipartisan."
I can't wait for the apologists to support this self-serving conman's claim of how grateful they should be that something worse didn't pass thanks to his "leadership."
It's Been Done
The Use and Abuse of Kiddie Human Shields [More]Ask 'em if they're getting their milk.
UPDATE: More childishness, which pretty much applies to the so-called "adult" useful idiots who spout this crap engineered by those who have not decided they are useless eaters -- yet.

I Suppose
Mike has a way for the states to generate some revenue. [Read]
Maybe. If it's the only way, with the understanding that it's only temporary until the unpleasantness is dealt with.
I still prefer this kind of emporium, although it does kind of need an old dog on the porch.

What's in a Name?
Just when I was going to suggest calling them Defense Utility Rifles, Kurt comes up with a better term. [Read]
Maybe I'll start calling them "RCRs" for short.

I Can Feel It Coming in the Air Tonight, Oh Lord
But, had I been armed, probably a single gunshot in the air would have prevented any threat. [More]No, no, no...
Reese Hearing Postponed
A motion on getting a new trial was supposed to be heard today.
A source close to the case advises it has been rescheduled for the 28th.
Well, what the hell. At least Judge Brack and the prosecution team will eat dinner with their families and sleep in their own beds tonight.

"A Testosterone Laden Fantasy"...
Well, at least he's relieved us of any obligation to respond politely, which I'd have a tough time typing anyway, what with all this blood on my hands... [Read]

Taking it on the (Man)chin
With special guest star John McCain as "Joe." [More]
Why wouldn't it be in our interests to play along, with such a proven champion leading this effort?
UPDATE: Oh, look. Maybe I had the Ballchi...uh...Manchinian all wrong. He's not really for an "assault weapons ban"--that's not "comprehensive" enough. Now if we just add a few more "common sense" restrictions...but first he needs to talk to some folks and ask what they believe.
This guy is such a d!ckhead.

We're the Only Ones Warming Our Children's Hearts Enough
Along with the rest of them. [Read]
With the caveat that we must assume innocence until guilt is proven, is there any doubt that an animal who would do this would be more than happy to try to confiscate guns with extreme violence if the order came through?
Or that such a creature would make an excellent sadistic camp guard, with all that that implies?
