We're the Only Ones Leveling the Playing Field Enough

The war on the streets is escalating. As gangs and other criminals pack more firepower, police departments say they find themselves in an arms race.

The officers say they need to level the playing field to survive.

So let me get this straight...when the enemy becomes more dangerous, prudent people who wish to "survive" should render themselves more helpless? Unless they're "The Only Ones," and then they should do the exact opposite?

Is that the theory behind "gun control"?

How does that work, exactly?

UPDATE: I figured this article for yet more tripe so never got past the first paragraph because it presented a point I wanted to make. But good grief, a trip to Uncle's/Sebastian's/Ahab's shows I missed a real adventure in "authorized journalism"--one on par with magic bullets hitting a house:
He lays the blame squarely on lawmakers who allowed the assault weapons ban to expire in 2004.

Designed to be fired from the hip, assault rifles such as the AK-47 can spray at a rate of up to 600 rounds a minute in full automatic mode. It is the weapon of choice for guerillas and gangsters.

When I read this story on CNN I came right to your blog expecting to see additional info.
It was so in your face about the AWB that surely people don't believe this.
Your were correct... It is tripe!

WE are the "gangs" these officers want these weapons for use against.

In their minds, anyone who would work alone or in a group to use weapons against them is a "gang member" or a "gang".

Remember Waco? LE is one of the wost gangs on the street. WE need weapons to counter theirs.

They are not above abuse, and history shows LE to be most capable of it.

LEO's firepower should be limited while ours remains heavy.

Militia, not a standing state-paid army.
