2A All the Way

Rady Ananda makes me eat my words.

Crow has never tasted better.

Check out the first column she has ever written about the right to keep and bear arms.

I understand OpEd News kind of freaked, because they're a "progressive" site. Hey, that's another debate to be held later. For now, go on over and give her some support.

And let other know.

Dugg her article, and I recommend others do as well. Talk about getting past "preaching to the choir!"

Thanks David, for prompting her to write.

David, Thanks for pointing us to the article.

Rady, You've eloquently stated the arguments. Thank you for this.

One of the things I find most chilling is that partisan politics has enabled otherwise right-thinking individuals to support tyranny by their "own" people, because it "has to be better than" the tyranny of the "other" party. If we are to survive as a nation of Free people, we need to be willing to vote ANYBODY out who fails to support Liberty. My party, your party, No party, whatever.

Right now our power still rests in the ballot box. I pray we do not come to the day when it rests solely on the cartridge box.

Pax,

Newbius

Newbius: yes, the "let's you and him fight" con has worked for far too long. This needs a major conceptual study, along the lines of Robert Cialdini's Influence or
Helmut Schoeck's Envy to get the point across. I have noted more than one self described "liberal" or "progressive" recognizing the RKBA though; how much of a trend it is I cannot say. I can say they take no pleasure in being ahead of the curve in that respect. (e.g.
terriermandotcom, "angry mouse" at none other than Daily Kos, and the
"gun totin liberal"

Excellent article, and thanks to Mr Codrea for linking to it and "eating crow." Alas, I'm not
up to signing up for another account today.

I did notice how much more liberty minded her stance is than some of our self-professed "gun rights advocates" who are ever so pragmatic. I suspect someone is going to rescind her "Progressive" credentials pretty soon. Too much independent thought in her head.

But, boy am I glad to see it.

Thanks, all, for your kind comments.

I gotta say I did that research months ago and sat on the article. I guess I kinda suspected some brouhaha, but I was shocked when they yanked the article off the front page for a few hours. Since that site is volunteer run, our “pay” is getting our articles headlined. Fortunately, the site owner is also a gun owner. I defended my progressive creds, and the piece was re-headlined.

I’m also surprised at how willing some of our members are to trust that only the gov should have firepower – especially after we massively covered the police brutality at the DNC and RNC last year. Rare for OpEdNews, we even issued a public policy statement condemning police action. http://snipurl.com/gbqmk

Anyway, thanks to Dave and to all of you for clicking on the article and boosting it. It went from No. 19 to No. 3 today. This is our 24-hour rankings page: http://snipurl.com/gbpny. But check out No. 1 article – written by cattlemen who are notoriously conservative - lions and tigers and bears! (The stats page refreshes every six hours; next at 1am Eastern.)

My hope is more and more regular citizens recognize the Left-Right paradigm is mostly about keeping us fighting with each other… what a potent force we would be if we all agreed on some things and acted in concert with each other. I’m SURE we have much in common – from protecting our food supply from industrial farms, to rejecting bankster debts, to self defense, and beyond.

Thanks again.
