The Wing-Nut Code

You thought they were just unhinged. But here's what they're really saying to the armed and dangerous. [More]
In "Art of War," Sun Tzu advised to know the enemy. I guess it's to our advantage that these leftist reactionaries are so out of touch with what's really happening in the heartland they think we get marching orders from corporate media.

Or to quote another great philosopher, "Eh, he don't know me very well, do he?"

But, as is my wont, my focus is on something else.

I notice AlterNet is pretty protective of their site content. For instance, they include this warning:
Reproduction of material from any AlterNet pages without written permission is strictly prohibited.
© 2009 Independent Media Institute. All rights reserved.
I wonder if they have permission to use all the images that appear in this story, or if they claim they all fall under "fair use"?

For instance, that William Kostric photo they used in the title post is an AP photo by Joel Page. I see no credit for it, and as they ought to know, AP has begun an aggressive campaign to charge for content. I use their stuff on Gun Rights Examiner, but that's because there is a license authorizing it.

I wouldn't be surprised to find AlterNet has a similar license, but lack of a credit under the picture makes me wonder. It couldn't hurt to ask AP if they do...at least it couldn't hurt us...

Be nice to monkeywrench these pinkos with this, get their whole damn left-wingnut effort scrutinized and dismembered...:)

CUM ULLA SELLA IN PUGNO TABERNA!

The Left seems really obsessed with snakes, I guess. "Don't Tread On Me" -- really scary.

"The tree of liberty" -- "That 'blood of patriots' bit? Dog whistle to the gun nuts."

The Left sees Americans with self-defense tools as nuts. Wing Nuts.

How insensitive.

"2. The tree of liberty -- This reference comes from a famous Thomas Jefferson quote: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of tyrants and patriots." You'll often find it used in bits and pieces as a form of code."

Code? It's actually written quite clearly, honestly , and literally.

yep, that's me, armed and dangerous. man, they're like dogs outside of a bear's den -- refuse to run, yet won't stop sniffing around.

"I guess it's to our advantage that these leftist reactionaries are so out of touch with what's really happening in the heartland they think we get marching orders from corporate media."

you know i never thought of that. you hardly have to do any research to be a step or two ahead. the potential problem with that, though, is tortoise-and-hare syndrome. a clean, pro-2A republican sweep in 2010 might help cool things off a bit, so get ahead, and stay ahead, y'all.

"A clean, pro-2A republican sweep in 2010"?

Only if there are clean, pro-2A Republicans running for office. It is up to all of us to identify and encourage to run those who would represent us (instead of their own biased views), regardless of party affiliation.

As if the leftists didn't use code words. The reason this crap is being troweled out is because they have absolutely no respect for us. They only hear a little growling now and then, but nothing serious, and things roll right along as they like it. Now, if something actually occurred to uspset their little plan, you'd see their true face, a face that looks just like Joe Stalin.

Damn! The writer needs to get back on his meds, and up the voltage on his shock treatments.

Just for fun, and as an exercise in writing and critical thinking, I need to copy this (poor) man's article, transfer to MS Word (sorry, I don't have Adobe), and do a re-write. "Bleed" all over it, as those familier with editing will know it.

And then send it back to him. I wish I could be a fly on the wall when (if) he reads my reply. The look on his face would be priceless.
