The Snuffy You Know vs the One You Don't

When I got the news last night about Snuffy Pfleger's Napoleonic exile, I really didn't have time to do much more than make a quick post. There are a few observations I want to make sure are in the mix.

From the story I originally linked to:
This past Sunday, Pfleger told St. Sabina's congregation that he's received more than 3,000 threatening e-mails – some calling for his death. The messages caused the church to beef up security for Sunday's services.
What--did they say bloodthirsty stuff like "Snuff out Mike P-F-L-E-G-E-R?" And death threats? You reported those for investigation, right?

And what does "beef up security" mean? Aside from the fact that you've shown the only way to opppose a threat of force is to possess sufficient deterrent force, and the display of same is often enough to repel a threat?

Meanwhile, things are getting interesting over at St. Sabina, with the congregation demanding Snuffy's reinstatement--and some going on a hunger strike. It's fairly obvious the loyalty is to the man, not to the church, which lends itself to all kinds of interesting conclusions and creates all kinds of interesting possibilities if the demands are not met.

One other revelation I found quite telling:

Over the weekend, he said that the days since his Trinity address had been the most difficult of his life, even more painful than when his foster son Jarvis was gunned down near St. Sabina on May 30, 1998.
Good grief--literally. It really is all about you, isn't it, Snuffy?

That is simply not a statement anyone who is a real father-- biological or adoptive-- could make. The levels of pain aren't even on the same scale. Or shouldn't be.

Now on to the replacement Snuffy: Here are a couple bits of information concerning temporary stand-in, Father William Vanecko. We might as well just start calling him Snuffy Lite, because:

Snuffy Violates IRS Code--Again

Abuses Church's Non-Profit Tax Status by Injecting St. Sabina in Political Campaigns

We and others have pointed this out about Snuffy before. Many times. No one with the ability to do anything about it, especially Americans United Against Non-Marxist Church/State Partnerships, the Chicago Archdiocese or the IRS cared.

This time, his demonstrable activities go beyond dedicating a "substantial part of...activities...carrying on propaganda or otherwise attempting to influence legislation." He's also involved his church in direct campaigning against specific candidates.

Per IRS IRS Publication 557, Tax-Exempt Status for Your Organization:
With this in mind, here's what he's been getting away with. With in-your-face defiance. I took these screen shots in case the links "disappear."

From four years ago:

Note he was careful not to actually come out and endorse anyone or flat out say don't vote for anyone. Wink-wink.

And now for this election:

I had to shrink the page to fit it here, and it's difficult to read. Let's take a closer look:

Note the key language he inserted this time that he did not on prior occasions:
If you want to keep guns off our streets don't vote for them!
Red-handed, Snuffy. Red-snuffing-handed.

This is not about whether or not we agree with the IRS code. What it's about is making sure we are all equal under the law. If Snuffy can do this and suffer no consequences, then a conservative church ought to be able to do so as well, and campaign against anti-gunners.

Thanks to 45Superman at Armed and Safe for calling this latest law-breaking to my attention--I believe he'll have some comments of his own on this, and I'll provide a link when he does. [UPDATE: Here it is.]

Feel fee to share this information. Not that I have hopes anything will come of it.

UPDATE: Feel free to join me.

UPDATE: It's in the Cardinal's hands...

When Thulsa Snuffed Snuffy

Obama campaign dumps 'Hillary supremacist' priest
Minister who served as Dem candidate's faith adviser said Clinton thought being white entitled her to victory

Snuffy Pleger seems out of control when even Thulsa doesn't want anything to do with him. He starts out doing a bad impersonation of Frank Gorshin impersonating James Cagney. Then he devolves into a cross between Adolf Hitler and Elmer Gantry.

I don't know how much more blatant Snuffy and Trinity United need to get in shilling for a candidate though, in order to get Americans United Against Non-Marxist Religion's attention--or the IRS's.

Any way you look at it, this guy acts like an unhinged, self-loathing white who would fit in great with these lunatics. And notice how hard he tries to talk in a way he thinks this audience will respond to--then notice how his accent and demeanor change when he's got a "mainstream" audience. What a Pfoney Pfraud. And tell me, with his adopting that street persona, he had no idea what "snuff out" meant.

He's crossed the line. I know Cardinal George was afraid to rein him in and demand obedience because Snuffy threatened to take his congregation and go home, but he has become such a national embarrassment that the church can no longer look the other way. Since American Catholics have not done their job to repudiate one of their clerics using his position in the church to spread racist hatermongering and covetousness, it's time for the Vatican to lay down the law--up to and including excommunicating their rogue if he does not submit.

Snuffy's New Political Advocacy Billboard Campaign

The Faith Community of Saint Sabina has put up 40 billboards throughout the city of Chicago...

It certainly doesn't look like Snuffy Pfleger is abusing the church's nonprofit tax status to advocate specific legislation, does it? I mean, who could possibly consider this to fall under the IRS proscription:
In general, if a substantial part of the activities of your organization consists of carrying on propaganda or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, your organization’s exemption from federal income tax will be denied.

Besides, the IRS is already busy, chasing down churches that post pro-life advocacy messages from their own marquees, or processing letters from The Separatists demanding a church have its tax status revoked because the fundamentalist pastor told his flock not to vote for a Mormon.

But Snuffy's a left-wing subversive, so the rules don't apply. And never have.

I wonder if they paid full price for the billboards with tax-deducted donations, or if the billboard company donated the space and took a write-off themselves?

WarOnGuns Correspondent Les K, who sent me the title link, which also gives the schedule of the Pfleger/Jackson Citizen Disarmament Mobfest and Rabble-Rousin'Jamboree for August 28, writes:
I've already called and have gotten about 20 folks to call the Chicago Archdiocese. 312-751-8200. Maybe you could post the number and ask folks to ask the Chicago Archdiocese why they allow a Catholic priest to engage in political and potential illegal behavior...

And while you're at it, ask 'em who's paying for the buses, the drivers, the gas, and whether or not it's "substantial" and coming out of tax-deductible contributions...

"Snuffed Out"

Hannity and Colmes cover the Mike "Snuffy" Pfleger brouhaha. By the way, the above is just a graphic--you need to click on the title link to get to the actual video player.

As expected, Alan dives right in to misdirection and apologia. The difference between this and an Ann Coulter column, Alan, aside from her well-known employment of satire as a literary tool, is she's not hysterically egging on a frenzied mob with street language right in front of anyone's doorstep. And as for your cynically referencing "the great Christian tradition of forgiveness," that sure doesn't sound like what the commie priest is doing.

The double standard is palpable. If I used the same terminology and applied it to our elected Chief Executive or one of the campaigning hopefuls for that job, I'd fully expect a visit from the Secret Service. If I said it in relation to the director of an abortion clinic, or, Allah forbid, a leader in our Guest Mufti Program, I'd expect the "terrorist threat" card to be played. Still, we can expect the wayward Snuffy will get away with this, and to tell you the truth, I'd rather we played more loosely with the First Amendment than tighter.

I believe everybody is missing the point. I believe all this noise will result in nothing. Is that what we want the outcome to be?

We've already seen a jury of his peers nullify charges where his committing the deed was never in question. And we've seen the Church hierarchy abdicating any authority to rein in their maverick.

I believe the key to shutting him down, the way to truly hurt his subversive operations, is through the tax issue I raised a few days ago (and incidentally, over a year before that). And that's why, it's with no small amount of frustration that I see this issue totally ignored not only by all "authorized" media, and not only by any "pro gun" organizations, but also by any other gun blogs save a few allies.

I just got the following from an EA ("Enrolled Agent"--a tax specialist) that convinces me I'm on the right track with this:
Mike Pfleger's 990 or 990EZ would have been due May 15 if The Beloved Community, Inc. is a calendar year filer and if it received total revenues in excess of $25,000 in 2006. (I suspect you will never see the 2006 returns if the organization has gone mostly inactive, there would not be enough revenue to force filing)

I would suggest that our friends in Chicagoland pay a visit to the location where the books are kept (per the 990 you have) and demand to see the organization's public records and be furnished with photocopies of same. See IRS instructions for form 990, page 11, for details: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i990-ez.pdf
I wouldn't mind seeing that, but as I indicated previously, it looks like everything is being done under the auspices of St. Sabina, which files no return because it's a church. I think it would need to be their books examined for donations and expenditures related to affecting legislative outcomes--including use of their assets for same, such as work product and correspondence stored on computers, telephone bills, vehicle use, etc.

If you're interested in kicking Snuffy in the nuts, this is the tack to use. Focusing on his hate speech, while useful for gaining some temporary attention, does little more than visibly divide people into their respective camps.

Sign of the Times

Was it intentional noncompliance, as implied, or can we expect the employee to be fired?

Either way, the gun-grabbers, including Chi-Town's "Reverend" Snuffy Pfleger, would rather the employee had been killed than armed.

Speaking of Snuffy:
Last Night, a young man who like ALL of us has a sorted past was murdered at 79th Laflin. He was trying to turn his life around.
Let me guess: An "aspiring rapper"? And did you mean "sordid," Snuffy?

Commies for Snuffy

We enjoy a special relationship with the Communist Party USA, founded in 1919, and publish its news and views.
Farrakhan, Jeremiah Wright, and now the commies--Snuffy certainly knows how to pick his friends, doesn't he?
Armed and Safe explains the connection. And it makes perfect sense to those of us who have been following things for a while, especially keeping tabs on heroic songs of the struggle of the working class promulgated by Snuffy's red pals:

Are You Sleeping, Bourgeoisie
Traditional American song, sung in rounds to the tune of "Frere Jacques".

Are you sleeping, Are you sleeping,
Bourgeoisie, Bourgeoisie,
And when the revolution comes,
We'll kill you all with knives and guns,
Bourgeoisie, Bourgeoisie

Bourgeoisie, Bourgeoisie, See How They Run
Usually sung in rounds after "Are You Sleeping, Bourgeoisie". Sung to the tune of "Three Blind Mice".

Bourgeoisie, Bourgeoisie,
See how they run,
See how they run

And when the revolution comes,
We'll kill them all with knives and guns,
Bourgeoisie, Bourgeoisie
So just to be clear, commies support gun control and hate religion, but are not above employing useful idiots to help them achieve their goals--and they won't be able to kill an armed populace with guns and knives--at least without meeting resistance. And we must not forget that some who appear to be useful idiots--say clerics who elevate secular Marxist dogma over the theological and defy church authority and get away with it--may, in fact, be committed Fifth Columnists.

But we do all see why they want us disarmed, right? For once can we do them the honor of believing them?

And when the revolution comes,
they'll snuff you out with knives and guns...

I wrote an extensive piece tangentially related to all this over 10 years ago. I'll post it tomorrow.

The Return of Snuffy

He'll be back.

Funny how saying how he's going to snuff out a fellow human being isn't grounds for suspension, but badmouthing a democrat is. But don't think of it as a punishment, even though I don't know what the hell else you'd call a grown man getting a "time out."

The key statement is in the video, where the woman says 75% of the congregation would follow Snuffy to a new church--which means they're not followers and believers of the religion anyway, but of the man.

Maybe they'll move to Guyana...?

And Snuffy's not-so-cryptic comment about not knowing what the future will bring reinforces just who's telling who to watch their step, and it ain't the intimidated Cardinal George.

And the Winner is...

George K.

Shoot me an email and I'll make arrangements to get you your cap.

And the losers are Jesse, Snuffy and the Bradys.

How do I figure? With all the foot stomping I've been doing trying to draw attention to this, and considering how many visitors come to this site each day, finding only 86 comments awaiting me this morning (with more coming in as I compose this post), the reality is, only one in 20 of you even bothered to respond--meaning the overwhelming majority, at least in this case, sat out from something so simple and self-beneficial as buying a box of ammo.

That's no way to win a rebellion. What are you sideliners gonna do when necessity presents real demands that you can't avoid against a foe that is purposeful and mean?

That's why the name of our winner is so appropriate. Most gun owners have been content to do little more than gripe, and when it comes to making a contribution or taking an action, adopting the "Let George do it" philosophy.

And spreading the word to gun stores was just pathetic. A few of you got out there and hustled. But most stores were clueless. And in truth,I blame them--their survival depends on knowing the winds and the currents of their trade. It's really their job to inform themselves of happenings affecting their business. In a rational world, they would be leaders and educators of their customers. By insulating themselves, they've pretty much assured they'll stand alone when the wolf appears at their door.

Jeez, we're pretty negative this morning. So why do I say our enemies are the ones who are the losers?

Because they did even worse. We did this with no free publicity from the major media. They had world famous names like Jesse Jackson and Sara Brady prodding their respective constituencies with shrill and desperate urgings. They had church "leaders" and their congregations in the communities they selected to demonstrate in, to get the word out "in the community." They had a budget (tax deductible in many cases), to pay for fliers and buses and press releases and website announcements and billboards and Jesse's hotel suite and airfare for himself and his bodyguards and entourage and child support payments, along with feeding him in the style to which he's accustomed... They saturated newspapers and TV newscasts throughout the land, which announced the upcoming events and sent reporters to cover them when they happened (in some cases, as we shall see). They sent out paid press releases promising "In Communities Across America, Huge Crowds Protest Gun Violence."

And they fell flat on their face in the delivery.

Here are the cities the Bradys touted. I've entered the names of the cities into a Google News search along with the words "gun" and "protest."

First, let's look at Chicago/Lake Barrington (the Brady site said "Evanston"), which was The Main Event--the one led personally by Jesse and Snuffy. Per ABC News, "about 150 marchers took their message to the DS Arms company plant..."

That's it? With all the hoopla and resources put into this, with all the free media exposure, with national names and a free ride to and from the protest, that's all the troops our mighty enemy could muster to the field in a fight they picked? Based on the comments left in this obscure blog, we managed to put together an opposing force of almost 60% of that number--and our volunteers paid for everything themselves. And we did it with no budget, no media exposure, no requests for donations...and that's just what's been reported on this blog. I note many visitors at Kim duToit's place pledged gun and ammo buys, and I look forward to a report from The Firearms Coalition.

OK, what about the other Bra-inbow PUSH cities? Remember the news search terms, "city name" and "gun" and "protest".

Newark: No after-the-fact stories appear. If there had been thousands do you think that would be the case?

Maryland: There are plenty of stories--let's link to one:

About 100 protesters rallied outside a gun shop in Maryland just across the District of Columbia border.
100? That's it for the nation's capitol?

Dallas: There are plenty of stories giving free PR to announce the rally, but not much reporting on the actual event. This CBS TV "report" does its best through selective camera angles and cuts to make a few dozen people look as large as possible, but for some reason reporting the actual number of protesters didn't strike "authorized journalist" Steve Pickett as newsworthy. If we are to believe the Brady's press release (and why wouldn't we?), "the news media said [the march] attracted hundreds..." but the source I found said "about 60 people marched." Hmmm....I wonder why the discrepancy...?

Denver: No after-the-fact reporting. It must have been glorious.

Duluth: Apparently matched only by Denver...

Evanston: I guess everybody figured out it was in Lake Barrington?

Ewing: Hey, at least they got mentioned in the Brady's paid press release.

Houston: Apparently, if we are to believe the demonstrably credible paid press release , some people hung some signs from a bridge.

Minneapolis: "Thirty-two people staged a 'lie-in' - [appropriate use of a term--DC] lying down on a north Minneapolis sidewalk." Y'know when I read about these and see the pictures, the first thought that comes to mind is Evel Knievel is never around when you really need him.

Philadelphia: "Dozens stage anti-gun rally"--well hold the presses.

Phoenix: In your face, Denver!

San Diego: A strong contender for edging out Phoenix...

And then, of course, 32 each for all the ridiculous "Protest Easy Guns" cities listed in the Brady announcement.

That's it. In spite of the enormous amount of advance pre-billing for this circus event by the mass media, and despite the money, power and names behind it, it turned out to be a dud. The fire in the belly seems to be mostly for self-promotion by Jesse and Snuffy, and a desperate search for relevance by the Bradys. Of course I have no scientific way to validate this, but my sense is that the stated goal here at WarOnGuns was achieved: That between (admittedly unvalidated) reports of ammo sales on this site and elsewhere, we probably came real close to buying a box of ammo (or spending equivalent dollars on guns or other gear) for every anti-gun protester that showed up.

Which means all the citizen disarmament mobs managed to do was produce the exact opposite of what they wanted: thanks to them, there are now tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition in private hands that would otherwise not have been bought on August 28. And they got meager after-the fact publicity for their failure because it was just so damned embarrassing to show how ineffectual they truly are at motivating anything other than staged grass roots support. Even the authorized journalists couldn't spin it as a victory.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Archdiocese Checking Up on Snuffy

I wonder if Snuffy Pfleger knows his bosses are doing Google searches of his name--hopefully to assess how much damage he's done to the church's reputation with everyone who's not a race-baiting loon. I'd love to see them make good on their order to reassign him .

Snuffy Still Flouts Tax Law as Separatists Turn Blind Eye

Snuffy Pfleger is still up to his liberty-snuffing antics, and there's still no outrage from Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

I guess using tax-deductible resources to advocate legislation to the general public isn't as threatening to the Republic as a fundamentalist preacher expressing religious views to his congregation...

It appears their moral outrage is consistently selective, does it not?

A Fail of One City

Because nothing quite says "Peace" like stirring up a mob to "snuff out" someone you don't like, right Snuffy?

To give you an inkling of how dense his followers must be, the guy in the framed photo was shot as a matter of routine by the "Only Ones" Snuffy and they want to have guns.

By the way, at the end of "A Tale of Two Cities," didn't the good guy die and the totalitarian state win?

Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.

When George Snuffed Snuffy

...a priest...may not endorse candidates nor engage in partisan campaigning... Fr. Pfleger’s remarks about Senator Clinton are both partisan and amount to a personal attack.
So in other words you're admitting that Snuffy has been violating the mandates under which St. Sabina enjoys its tax exempt status? Something other churches have been penalized for?

Does the IRS know about this?

And what spin will the hypocrites at Americans United Against Non-Marxist Religion put on this--assuming they don't just ignore it.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figured.

Snuffy's.

And not so much.

Hey, I wonder if he's going to incite the mob to "Snuff out Darren W-I-L-S-O-N" and "drag him out like a rat"...?  Just to be consistent?

New WarOnGuns Poll: Snuffing Snuffy

I'd hoped to do a follow-up this week to the previous poll that asked how much money WarOnGuns visitors donated to pro-gun groups. This time, I was going to focus on how much time you give toward protecting the right to keep and bear arms.

We'll need to save that one for another day. Events pertaining to rogue priest Father Michael "Snuffy" Pfleger justify a more timely use of that space.

Go on over to the left margin and weigh in on what you think the most effective way to deal with him should be.

The Pfleger/Pfarrakhan Love-Pfest

[Scroll down to 5th letter]
Personally, I stand with Farrakhan and his pursuit for justice and unity. I am proud to call him a friend and a prophetic voice of our times.
Yeah, I'm sure everybody is just taking him "out of context," Snuffy, or misinterpreting his words, just like they did to you when you roused the rabble to "Snuff out John R-i-g-g-i-o."

I mean, I can find all kinds of context for:
White people are potential humans--they haven’t evolved yet.
You play off bigotry, resentment, ignorance and cult-like devotion to maintain your place in "the community," don't you, Snuffy? And the Archdiocese let's you get away with it because you've made it clear to them that you'll take the parishioners--who are loyal to you instead of the church-- and walk.

That you haven't been defrocked and excommunicated speaks more to the gutlessness of the Archdiocese than anything else. And why the IRS hasn't shut you down is beyond me.

Words of Explanation

Give me the words to explain this. [More]
OK--you're a reason-impaired moron ruled by ignorance and prejudice. If only we can make "the streets" even more "gun free," this 15 shootings in one night crap will have to stop! And who better to look to for making that happen than Snuffy and Tim-Tom?

One thing did ring true:
I needed some help myself.
Admission is the first step--assuming you mean it. Which, based on the rest of your weepy rant, you must not. So continue ripping out your hair Carol Marin. But you might want to wash your hands first, so you don't get blood in it.

Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.
