"Please, Let Us Debate Gun Ownership Without 'Acrimony'"

Why become "very angry" at my merely expressing an opinion with which one disagrees?
Well, John Paul, maybe it's because you are free to ignore our opinions and no ninjas will come after after you.

Guess what happens to one of us when we ignore one of those evil citizen disarmament edicts you promote?

It seems rancorous to suggest that I have learned nothing in these years, despite having earned a Ph.D at a significant American university.....
Guess they didn't cover the U.S. Constitution at that American University, eh, John?

Actually, I agree with John. I think America would be a better place without public ownership of guns.

I will support him in every way I can if he can come up with an effective plan to rid us of publicly owned guns. However if he tries to do away with privately owned guns he is going to have a fight on his hands.
Publicly owned guns, ban them. Works for me. No security details for politicians, no armed police at public expense (no problem if they must furnish their own weapons subject to the exact rules as everybody else). The only exception being the military and only if the same arms are available on the open market. If we buy them once for our brave youngsters to use, we should be able to buy them a second time for our own.

No publicly owned gun has ever done me service, a few privately owned ones have. So, hey, I'm all for it.
