What's Wrong With This Picture?

No, I'm not pointing out that some sheep would rather have merchandise than freedom tools, or that cops and businesses are funding another pointless media-circus "buyback." We should have come to expect such nonsense by now.

What I find truly absurd about this article is this:
The two were among dozens of gun-toting residents who converged on a shopping center parking lot Saturday to anonymously [emphasis added--DC] swap firearms for gift certificates as part of a program aimed at reducing violence in this crime-plagued city.
Good job, Sandy Cohen of the Associated Press!

You've now announced the names of "Big Daddy" Willis, Charlene Watt and Ruther Daniels. But I suppose if these three had the acumen to withhold their names, they wouldn't be turning in guns for gift certificates.

Wonder what poor Charlene will do when she finds out she needs to turn in about 20 more shotguns to get that plasma TV?

What the _____ is a "Tec-9 semiautomatic machine gun pistol"?

I noticed that in my post on this subject also...

I thought the title hit a bit low on the normal level of gun bigotry that CNN normally displays. They should try harder...

When are they going to do this in San Antonio? I have a Lorcin that should be worth at least 3 or 4 boxes of ammo for my other guns that actually work.

"The only reason you'd have these guns is to shoot at people," said sheriff's Deputy A.J. Rotella....

Yeah, but that's not the ONLY reason A.J., (Depending of course on what your meaning of the word 'people' is).

Our founders had another reason - FEAR. The politicians and Public Servants, such as yourself A.J., had knowledge that their 'misdeeds' could easily be checked by an armed populace.

And you want us to HONESTLY believe, that once ALL the guns are gone - the Public Servants will ALWAYS use their best behavior! Keeping our 'General Welfare' utmost in mind?

(Especially, in consideration of L.A. Law Enforcements' present track record on civil rights?)
