Durrett patted White down before he placed him in the patrol car, Sheriff Mike Cleveland said. The sheriff said he didn't think White was handcuffed. If this is what happened, that's damned sloppy police work, deputy. You're lucky it wasn't you who got shot.
Then all the blooddancers could have made you a martyr, blamed the gun, and called for more "common sense gun laws."

I was born at night, but it wasn't last night. I ain't buyin'.
Contempt of cop sounds a whole lot more likely as cause of death. If we get rid of all the guns what would the deputy throw down then?
I have seldom seen a cop that didn't ensure he was safe no matter who he had to sacrifice. Think about Columbine High School. I don't believe for a minute that he put an armed uncuffed suspect in his patrol car and then let him ride behind him.
Sounds like the dead guy may have really been a bad man and the deputy figures this will go away, He's a cop!
I'm with straightarrow on this one. This has the definate
'stench' of 'I'll show YOU!' BANG!
And it wasn't the suspect that was doing the 'showing'.
