Members of Congress are so cowed by the power of the National Rifle Association that they can't hear a cry from US cities: "Please, help us get handguns off our streets." Congress has even tried to block cities from taking action against gunmakers.More blather from the "Christian Scientists".

Yeah, I know I was exploiting a stereotype—I thought the “you people” reference would make it clear I was talking to the CSM editorial board, but I see now there is wide latitude for folks to construe it as a general attack—so I apologize if you were offended. I didn’t mean to go after anyone but the nitwits who wrote and approved that bit of subversion.
And the irony of THAT statement is that socialized medicine results in medical treatments being withheld...:)
