Due to the controversy surrounding Jim Zumbo’s recent postings, Outdoor Life has decided to discontinue the “Hunting With Zumbo” blog for the time being. Outdoor Life has always been, and will always be, a steadfast supporter of our Second Amendment rights, which do not make distinctions based on the looks of the firearms we choose to own, shoot and take hunting. Perhaps this is a temporary glitch? If not, poor judgment on the part of Outdoor Life--it makes them look like revisionist historians.
If that's the case, this will not endear them to the angry horde.
I didn't realize they could make this situation any worse for themselves. Maybe it's time to use that email link.

Wow. And I mean wow. The amount of damage this idjit did is almost unfathomable. The Brady-bunch has already picked it up and refuses to admit he issued an apology, Remington dropped his ass, I poked fun at him, and now even the magazine he wrote for is trying to staunch the flow.
But I'm glad it happened. I think this is an important conversation to be having, especially in lieu of quite possibly putting the Republicans into a smaller minority come '08 (and at this time, they're not giving me the warm fuzzies). The absolute blaze this spark caused should show any anti-gun idiot that assaults on the 2A won't stand. And many hunters aren't 2A people - they simply like to shoot animals and could care less about the Constitution.
This might very well have came from higher up. Remington might have demanded their ad be removed from along side the words of this moron. This might have just been the quick fix.
I imagine any true supporters of gun rights advertising at Outdoor Life would ask their money stop going towards hosting such anti-second amendment opinions.
Good point, anon. If that's the case, I look forward to their reposting the removed blogs in their entirety--meaning with all comments-- sans the Remington banners.

I do not believe "for the time being" is positively indicative of support for Second Amendment rights, unless your "time being is as never to resume.
The man has written on guns and hunting for 42 years, all the while holding opinions repugnant to rights of Americans, the Constitution, and your readership.
After 42 years, in which he remained ignorant, and less accpeptably, arrogantly hateful of the rights of those who are not ignorant of the issues, I do not believe he had an overnight epiphany.
I hope your definition of the "time being" means for the time being never to accept contributions from such an unpatriotic elitist that has no concept of liberty American style

I also emailed Remington's CEO and told them they had achieved Most Favored Corporation trading status with me for their quick and proper response to Du.. uh, Zumbo.
I received a reply that was elegant in its simplicity. merely "Thank you ".
The email I sent to Outdoor Life came back as undeliverable. I think they are running. Their email link didn't work for me, I suspect I am not unique. Damn!
