This is Not Gun Control

The NRA insisted that it was not a "gun control" bill because it does not disqualify anyone currently able to legally purchase a firearm.
Yeah. Besides, when have we ever seen the antis try to renege on previous deals?

It's not like once the beachhead is gained and secured it would be used as a launching point for further attacks. It's not like this won't be expanded to include demands to go after gun s already in "the system"--or that demands would then be made to remove guns from the homes where such people reside belonging to other family members or roommates.

Nah, don't think of it as gun control. Think of it as public relations--and a foundation for future fundraising.

Hey, Wayne--as long as we're on the subject of responses to Virginia Tech, would it still be "exploiting tragedy" to broach the subject citizens not having their right to keep and bear arms infringed on campus, or is that concept still verboten?

Oh, look: He's "beginning a dialog."

Are we getting ready to change our tune, or is the lead-in lauding "armed guards" an indicator of more of the same?
Are there solutions to this problem? Is there anything we can all do to help protect our kids at school?
And they say there are no stupid questions.

God forbid NRA would have anything to say about this:
H.R. 2424: To repeal the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990 and amendments to that Act
Maybe I shouldn't have said anything about that. I'd hate to think I was partly responsible for getting Ron Paul's rating knocked down another grade.

It's time for me and you to whip out the checkbook and support Ron Paul for president. He's our best hope for all rights, 2nd amendment included.

Wayne LaPierre says he wants to hear our thoughts, but every single time I write to NRA my letter is ignored. I guess it is because I am not saying what they want to hear.

There's no excuse for being a member of the NRA anymore.

They are, and have been, actively working for the gun-control in this nation.

I wonder how all this may have played out if they had not gotten involved at all...(We may have just had a partisan gridlock)

"Legally able" to own a weapon. Noooo, it's not gun control, as long as the Gov't says you aren't a "terrorist watch", "non-person", "felon", "mentally ill", "restrained", _________, we'll ALLOW you to have a gun.

Anyone walking the streets in "constitutionally able" to bear arms. The "law" is whatever a tyrant wants it to be.

As things get worse, one positive thing can be said: From the NRA to the ATF, entities are becoming increasingly blatant with their treachery.

The empire has no close.

JPFO/GOA all the way. Wich brings me to one more thing....it was asked "What do you do in defense of gun-rights?" Well, I will give to those who are worth giving to. Some of these "pro-gun" organizations think speaking the truth will make them look to "extreme" to gain support. The opposite is true: People who want to protect gun-rights don't give because they are driven to apathy due to the pathetic pool of "gun defense" groups out there like NRA. We want someone WORTHY to give our money to and get behind.

I give to the JPFO. Great guys.

If the NRA from day one had acted like JPFO, we would not have gun-control.

While I was trying to research NRA's actions on this subject, I received the Brady Bunch email bragging and celebrating their "win" and persuasion over the NRA on this bill.

That's when I knew it was a bad thing...

I have posted the letter I sent to the NRA.

libertyplease is right. Ron Paul is the absolute best candidate we have, and he deserves the best support we can afford him.
