The board will consider whether Giusto, once a driver for former Gov. Neil Goldschmidt, lied about when he first heard about Goldschmidt’s statutory rape of a 14-year-old when he was mayor of Portland...
The board also will decide whether Giusto lied to reporters about his role in a controversy involving then-Multnomah County Crime Commission Chairman Jim Jeddeloh, including when Giusto first began dating Jeddeloh’s wife, Lee...
The second allegation in the letter concerns Giusto’s approval of a concealed handgun license to Jim Jeddeloh, the then-chairman of the Citizens Crime Commission.
Giusto told reporters he had not been aware of Jeddeloh’s criminal background, which included two arrests for drunken driving and allegations of domestic violence, when he approved his application. Normally, a record would mean an automatic denial.
Sleazy soap opera, anyone?
