An aide to Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick filed a police report Thursday claiming Monica Conyers, the short-tempered City Council president pro tem and wife of U.S. Rep. John Conyers, threatened to get a gun and shoot him at a city pension board meeting.Gungrabbers all. And remember when classy Monica got in a bar fight?
But a spokesman for Conyers says she was the real victim in the hubbub.
According to the police report filed Thursday by DeDan Milton, an assistant to Kilpatrick, Conyers "threatened to shoot (Milton) with her gun" and made "several aggressive movements" toward Milton "in a threatening manner."
What a coincidence. I just got done emailing a link to this article to Texas Gun Nut after he sent me a link to SexyDanTheLovinMan and asked me about my posts on violent anti-gunners. I was going to cover ol' sexy Dan tomorrow, but this story came along, plus I see Say Uncle already beat me to it.
No wonder they don't want us armed--they think we'd act like they do, and that's gotta scare the hell out of them.

No, David, they are not afraid we would act like they do. They are afraid we could keep them from acting that way.

Look up the psychological term "Projection".
People who have rage issues combined with projection are afraid of firearms in the hands of others. They cannot control their own violent tendencies, so they assume all other people are exactly as rage-ridden as they are.
I understand what projection is. These people are not projecting. If they were, they wouldn't be so rude, confrontational, or combative against people they know believe in being armed.
Were it projection they would be in great fear that we would act just the way they would. But you can tell by their actions that they do not believe we would resort to violence unless they did first.
This is simply relying on our proven better natures, that they believe we have, to continue to heap scorn upon us, knowing they would physically harm us if we did the same to them. Ergo, they aren't projecting, they are simply cognizant of the fact that they cannot do what they would otherwise do in the physical world without consequence and they wish to eliminate that consequence, so that they feel safe to physically attack or to send their minions to do the same.
Projection is still part of that mindset.
I think they know intellectually that we won't shoot first ... but deep down inside, they don't understand not being violent if you can do so with impunity.
They see as us either suckers who an be disarmed by authority, or people as dangerously unstable as themselves.
They cannot mentally tell the difference between the wolves and the sheepdogs, they try to tell the two apart by rote ... they do not understand the latter's mindset at all.
These people are mentally broken ... either dangerous narcissistics, fear-ridden control freaks, and te majority of the brady bunch supporters, who are mostly projecting.
Fully functional adults don't fear the self-defensive abilities of others.
If you can't act responsibly with a firearm you should be serving a custodial sentence or in the booby hatch.
