Plan A. Rope. Tree. Bureaucrat. Some assembly required. Plan B. (Metallic snick heard in background)

They can come and try to get them...

So, if my attempt to penetrated the DHS's deliberately dense bureaucratese is successful, I understand that, if any disaster, natural or jihadi, strikes the USA the DHS claims it can instantly and legally prohibit all firearm and ammunition sales and transfers without any government oversight.

I don't think the Heller decision is going to matter much. Between the BATFU and the DHS, the 2nd Amendment is pretty much toast, unless Sean's solution is applied nationwide.

gaviota I don't think you understand, sean's plan is the Second Amendment

Seems like the department is just out to protect ITS homeland's security...and that would be the seat of federal government...DC. Guess DHS is down with the DOJ argument.

Dave, thanks for that reminder about how far "federal purposes" could be extended re. the requirement for RealID.

As a resident of one of the 17, I won't be in compliance by May 11th. Even if CO had a compliant ID in place, my license doesn't expire for a while yet. (And I wasn't planning on renewing early in order to get on, if CO had it in place.)

I added another slide to your show too.

Someone used the "D-word."

The comment from DHS as I read it was - Since your state is not RealID compliant no one in your state can buy a gun. Is it just me or does 'Dept. of HomeLand Security' sound a little like 'the FatherLand' or 'the MotherLand' phrases used by fascists and communists? What really ticks me off is my gov't wants to restrict the rights of people who have for generations been citizens of the several states in the US but they then let Mexicans and who knows what/who else stream across the border with little to no restriction. Our gov't really does hate us.
