This always seems to be the problem when someone decides to exercise their right to open carry and others haven't done so in a LONG, LONG, time. People become unaccustomed to it and then when someone decides to open carry, people get their panties all in a twist - and it's so unusual even the cops don't know if it's legal until they take the time to look it up.
Unfortunately, there are FAR too many cops who will take that challenge to their knowledge as a challenge to their authority and make an "attitude arrest", with subsequent lawsuit to follow the dropping of all charges.
Part of this is due to poorly written laws, poor supervision and training, and the constant media separation of the police from the people they work for - hence the "only ones" who the politicians constantly try to curry favor to support their pet legislative pieces which will help get them re-elected (being "strong on crime").
The media and politicians working together on the liberal agenda is wrecking havoc on our society.
I think the people in Virginia who open carry as a group and are slowly spreading people's exposure to open carry are doing those in Virginia and neighboring areas a GREAT service, and I hope it's encouraging others to follow suit. Open carry needs to become much less an oddity and a FAR more normal occurrence.
This clearly shows me personally that cops don't give a rat's ass about the law and do as they wish the law was. Of course the victim tried to talk to the cops in a fair way and tone to reason with them and they just wanted to be the hot shots and get in his face with their stupid crap.
Well not because of some stupid morons the tax payers are on the hook for the actions of morons and the morons will not be fired or have to pay the damages.
