They will need a big hard drive to store my shadow signature.
When will they get to our thoughts?
Reminds me of the scene in the original The Thing where one of the guys wonders if it can read minds. Another answers that 'he'll be real mad when he gets to mine -s-.
As with all things, I bet there is a way to defeat it.
"It was even possible they were able to watch everyone all the time." Winston Smith, writing in his illegal journal (thoughtcrime!) about the Thought Police. -- "1984"
Orwell had no deadline date when he feared his dystopia would be made reality. He wrote it in 1948 and transposed the last two digits.
Wouldn't hurt to turn a "bird" to the sky randomly just for general harassment purposes. Wear long coats. Use a cane for no reason. We could triple the number of "people" they feel the need to index.
they would have a hell of a time with me. My gait changes depending on what hurts the most on any given day.
i wonder how that'd work when i'm on a bike, or horseback.
bet it wouldn't.
Now that right there is some scary shit. I think I may find some things to attach to my body so I can cast an odd shadow. And change them up day by day.
Gentleman and ladies ... time to bring back the fedora hats!
If you need to change your gait suddenly, or just want to do so... put a small pebble or stick into your shoe. You won't be ABLE to walk "normally" as long as it is there.
Change the object, change the shoe, and you change the gait.
But remember that they must get a "normal" one first to compare subsequent images with.
But I don't know why they would bother with this. There are so many other ways to track people these days. The cameras all around would certainly make a lot more sense.
And yes, things to change your appearance otherwise are good. Read The Gray Zone by Claire Wolfe and Aaron Zelman. Lots of good ideas there.
