So, why did I abuse the very people I'd been hired to serve? [More]Uh...because no one made an example of you or your fellow "Only One" abusers?
I still don't see that offered as a solution, nor do I see any movement toward the one you do offer becoming the...uh...norm.
So...uh...Norm--what are your thoughts on citizens carrying firearms--and being able to defend themselves against abusive official goons like you describe? And as someone who "rose" to chief, you no doubt saw it all and know how pervasive it is.
And by the way--did that "principled prosecutor" throw your thuggish ass in jail? If not, how principled could he have really been? Offhand, I'd say "Not very," because you ID yourself as a "retired Seattle police chief," not a fired and convicted one.
Well, we have our answer--from "Breaking Rank," page 69:
"I am an unyielding proponent of gun control--because of what I saw and experienced as a cop."No doubt.
I'll tell you one thing...uh...Norm--you couldn't have picked a better title for your Huff-Po column.

I am an unyielding proponent ... of a police state?
Well, David, so much for this being some kind of confessional.
How sad.
He might think that being able to beat on a child like an enraged chimpamzee, er, *ahem* "police brutality" is bad, but he still wants the chimps, er, *ahem* cops to be able to do it without fear of reprisal, whether from the legal system, or from an armed victim.
Interesting premise he has to "get control of the cop culture"....should we attempt to control the cops the way they control the citizenry? Through physical violence and confrontation because we had been "bruised"???
Anonymous, that seems to be the only option they are leaving us. Sorry state of affairs, that. But hey, they're the ones calling the tune. They could stop playing that funeral music anytime they wished.
It appears they don't wish. So the only thing they have left is unpleasantness in response. Of course, I expect most of them will then run and hide, burn their uniforms, bury their badges and whine and wail.
