It's Only "Official" if Non-Officials Do it

Both men were charged late Tuesday with one count of first-degree murder of a peace officer, one count of first-degree murder, and one count of attempted murder. [More]
Now wait a minute--it says the officer was in plain clothes.

If Abbate can be acquitted of "official misconduct" charges because his victim didn't know he was a police officer, how is it that this extra charge can be tacked on here if they didn't know their victim was one?

Forget it Jake. It's Chi-Town.

Speaking of which, that "gun control" they have there works wonders, doesn't it?

It is not the uniform that makes him a peace officer, but the display of the star, which is why you will see plainsclothes officers displaying their shield or star on their belt when making arrests.

Ain't a star that makes a LEO a "peace officer."

It's an oath--and meaning it.

The badge/shield/star is a non-verbal declaration that an oath has been made and will be upheld.
No oath = no badge/shield/star.
