Gun owner and correspondent HZ followed up on reports that the Bloomington Herald-Times was "treat[ing] law-abiding gun owners like registered sex offenders."
...Per editor Robert Zaltzberg in his reply to HZ's inquiry:

David;
The new information from BHT doesn't matter...newspapers publish CCW info as a way to intimidate gun owners and potential CCW applicants.
There is no other reason for publishing the data. They are welcome to "nudge nudge wink wink" all they want.
I totally support publishing personal address and contact info, real estate information and any and all other info that can be obtained legally online from the public databases on every journalist and employee of any paper who creates a "CCW database."
Don't cut them slack! Weasels are as weasels do!

It's not a matter of slack, Michael, it's a matter of accuracy.
When we engage we need the best information we can get, both so we can fight the best fight, and so the other side can't discredit our arguments with accusations of hyperbole and misinformation.
David, Congratulations on being the "Standout Examiner" featured in Examiner.com's December newsletter. You are doing an excellent job representing our side- the right side.
Thanks--just saw that--what a pleasant surprise.
Well, tit for tat, as they say. Caleb has created his very own "Authorized Journalists" database here:

Bill.
Good. Glad to see that term, along with "Only Ones," is making the rounds and expanding into wider use.
The Hue & Cry will ensue when they start publishing a Abortion permits database.
Oh wait, the government doesn't require permits before obtaining a concealed abortion.
Never mind.
