By pushing her out and locking the door, everyone on her side of it was put at risk.

If I had an opportunity to catch someone reloading while murdering people, I'd give her a push allright, right into the next world.
1. Even if their response was not optimal, it probably was the best
they could do given their then current experience and training.
2. Most reports say that the e-mail
notification of everyone else on the
campus went out about an hour later,
much too late to have been of much use.

P.S. Lockdown of the building in
which the shooter was located, before she was arrested is not
a good strategy. This has been mentioned here before.
