We're the Only Ones Flagging the Play Enough

A sheriff's deputy assaulted and locked up a musician for 13 hours, and threatened to throw him in prison for 3 years, because he didn't like the way the musician treated the flag during a show, the musician claims in Tulsa Federal Court. [More]
So what's worse? Stomping on a flag, or stomping on everything it's supposed to stand for under color of authority?

Any chance we'll see charges brought against the LEO under federal law 18 USC 242? :P

Stomping on the constitution is worse than stomping on its symbol. Especially when the constitution the symbol represents protects anyone's right to that particular reprehensible expression.

As a law enforcement officer he had a duty to leave the man alone and even to arrest a private citizen who might take physical umbrage at the actions of the sorry bastard. It is quite possible that he would have needed to arrest me to protect that man's right to free expression. However, I would merely have been expressing my opinion by stomping if that was in vogue at the initiation of the poor poor musician.

Maybe all these short barreled shotguns are for music teachers?
