An Obstructed View

OUR VIEW: Mental health awareness, not guns, can prevent shootings [More]
So you're supposed to yell out "We understand that you're crazy!" and that'll stop things?

Or what?

My guess is, the people being shot realized their attacker was a lunatic, and that was the least of their immediate concerns.

And speaking of nutty, this one really strikes me as a reality disconnect:
(Certainly the Kent State incident was also evidence of a national distress, but one we’re not likely to see again soon.)
Having experienced then and now, I wouldn't be so confident at predicting what "we're...likely to see again soon" under the current "national distress" level.
