It's Only Common Sense

Machetes used in armed robberies not uncommon, police say [More]
I guess making an armed response a common response by the commoners will not become commonplace in Massachusetts, with all its "common sense gun laws"...?

The National Coalition Against Machete Violence is partnering with the Kitchen Knife Control, Inc. to demand that machete locks be sold with each machete in addition to background checks. There should also be a 3-day waiting period for kitchen knives...

FWIW, the machete in the video is the type commonly called a Panga. It is a common tool in Africa used for clearing brush and genocidal massacres.

I'd give Macheteman the chance to find out if blades can really deflect bullets like in the movies.
Yes, even in Massachusetts, and even in a gun-free work zone.
It'll go on until word gets around that it might be the last "lick" one ever attempts. Shoving a weapon in someone's face means "Give me what I want, or I might kill you."
Besides, the cops always say to give them what they want. Where's the disincentive?

AP reports Mayor Bloomberg is trying to keep his city calm after a Muslim cab driver was attacked with a knife in his cab. He says the passenger asked whether he was a Muslim, and when he answered yes, he was cut on the neck.
IF this is the true story, could it be what happens when the government threatens to investigate and quash grassroots protests? It is definitely the tale of a person bringing a knife to an ambush of an unarmed (by law) person minding their business.
Either way, Bloomberg looks like crap. I wonder if there will ever be political consequences.
OR... is this a psy op to generate sympathy for Muslims?
And all the other disarmed cabbies who are robbed and injured daily in NYC... what about them? Oh, that's just routine, one of the hazards of the job, you know. They never get camera time with the mayor.
Are the peasants beginning to see that some animals are more equal than others, finally?

We3ll, my old standby still works, no matter the political climate. One can of wasp & hornet spray, your choice of brand - steady stream, ten feet, silent, no permits needed, permanently blinds, temporarily closes throat, available anywhere, disposable anywhere, and less than five bucks.
Not sexy or cool... but seriously effective.
