One case in how many? The truism that hard cases make bad law should be invoked here. The author is pandering to the fear of "gangs" to promote a repeal of a common sense law. If I accepted this idiot's logic then I'd have to demand the fourth amendment be repealed because it makes it harder to lock up criminals. Better get rid of the Fifth too. That no double jeopardy thing is a real bummer.
