American Traveller Equality Act of 2010

But if Pelosi's flying experience is anything like Boehner's in the future, she still won't have to worry about pat-downs and security lines. [More]
I find it offensive that these self-entitled elitists are automatically deemed more trustworthy than the general public that employs them.

Why not challenge your representative to introduce and/or sponsor a bill along these lines without delay?  Seeing who supports and opposes it should be telling:

A BILL

To ensure that all members of Congress shall be subjected to the same Transportation Security Administration air travel screenings as their constituents.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘American Traveller Equality Act of 2010’.

SEC. 2. NO EXEMPTIONS FOR CERTAIN AIRPORT SCREENING METHODS.

No law of the United States shall be construed to confer any exemption for a Member of Congress from any physical contact, x-rays, or millimeter waves, that are requirements imposed on the general public in an airport or to fly in an aircraft.

END

If nothing else, the creative weasel-worded excuse-making ought to make for interesting reading.

Hmm. Not bad, but let's not give them any wiggle room. Make that "A. No law, regulation, rule, or policy of the United States..."

And we need some penalties:

B. Any Member of Congress who attempts to evade or avoid such security screening will be deemed suspiscious, and subjected to an immediate strip search which will include body cavity probe in full view of any and all members of the general public present at the screening point the Member of Congress attempted to evade or avoid, will be censured by Congress, and subjected to the same investigation, arrest, penalties, or fines as any member of the general public.

And lest we forget:

C. Any Member of Congress facing an ethics investigation shall be deemed suspiscious and immediately placed on the "selectee" watch list for andditional screening. Any Member of Congress who has been found guilty of any ethics violation shall be placed permanently on the "no-fly" list and refused access to commercial or government aircraft.
