Ethics and common decency. More like guidelines, really.

My worst nightmare. An "Only One" with a gun and a badge. And, apparently, a penchant for consumming large quantities of alcohol, beating the crap out of people and waving a gun around while he does.

I told y'all about the volunteer rescue squad paramedic who, when asked about the 10 firetrucks in my neighborhood, said simply "The firemen have a handle on it."
Gas pipeline rupture? Serial arson? What?

Yes, they did. It was a single fire in a detached house, contained to the property. Would have been nice to know as they sat there looking all macho until 5 a.m., watched over by two cooping cops blocking the dead-end street.
