When I read an anti-gun op-ed from the New York Times I have a mental picture of some guy frothing at the mouth while maniacally pounding away at a keyboard. While I haven't read Westen's “The Political Brain: The Role of Emotion in Deciding the Fate of the Nation” I would guess that, in his book, he decries the very illogical process he uses in his NYT column.
