There's Something About Bruce

Bruce Abernathy walked away with an assault rifle after sitting through a 30-minute background check at the Texas show.

"There should be more strict background checks," said Abernathy, a Dallas resident. He said there should be a 30-day waiting period to buy weapons and a thorough background check that includes five references. [More]
Fudds aside, how is it possible ignoramuses like this exist among semi-auto owners?

Whatever the antis get, they'll be back for more. Bruce may find that once they've gotten what he will allow, they'll be back for some things that he won't allow.
He might not like giving up his Dad's bolt-action, Remington .30-06, when they call it a "sniper rifle" and ban it. He might not want to give up the .30-30 Marlin he's been deer hunting with, since he was a teen, when they call it a "rapid fire repeating weapon" and ban it.
We hang together or we hang separately. Gun owners who don't understand how that works need a good talking to.

His age probably has something to do with it.. he mimics a thought process familiar to those suffering from a democrat controlled educational system.. a believer who sees himself as not one of the untrustable.

So let this person personally observe a 30-day--or whatever duration he feels comfortable with--waiting period and leave the rest of us alone. I wouldn't object if he unilaterally imposed a 10 year waiting period on himself if he feels one is warranted--as long as he leaves me out of his weird obsessions.
