Minnesota Alert

Who's working on fighting this? [Read]

Anybody got a handle on its chances?

I ask, because I go here, and based on the level of support, it looks like Minnesota gun owners must want it to pass.  Is the lack of support because they don't know about it, don't care about it, or are they just confident they have the votes to strangle it in its crib?

Who else is doing what?

The MN Gun Owner's Civil Rights Alliance and the NRA are fighting this - hearings will go on this coming week and lead to some sort of omnibus bill in a few weeks.

It's going to be a tough fight. We have a democrat controlled Senate and House and a democrat in the Governor's Mansion.

Do you still have people who can read the U.S. Constitution?

Ex-D, they read it just fine. They, like the rest, simply don't agree with it or the underlying principles.

I fully expected a lot of bad things to happen this session once the election results were in last Nov. I would not even have been surprised if the concealed carry law here was repealed even without the recent school shootings to add pressure. My state rep (R) has a voting record of being pro-obamacare (demonstrating acquiescence to the regime), so I don't expect much real resistance there despite me, and hopefully others, "contacting my legislator."
