A Sad Day for Us All

Brenda Leyland was found dead in a hotel room earlier this month after being confronted by Sky News over her alleged trolling of Kate and Gerry McCann, whose three-year-old daughter went missing in Portugal in 2007. [More]
May you be an inspiration to more.  I know you've inspired me.  I'm going to stop calling  sadists-psychopaths / infiltrators-disruptors trolls and start calling them @Sweepyfaces.

That said, there's an actual danger here:
Last month a man was jailed for 18 weeks for what British prosecutors described as "a campaign of hatred" against a female lawmaker.
I don't know all the circumstances and if actionable threats were made, but that has the potential for much greater evil than any silly troll is capable of generating.  Besides, if handled right, they're useful and fun. I generally don't respond to them directly in comment threads, but the "best" ones, that is, the ones that best illustrate something that can be exploited, get special posts.
