Did he buy one of those "40,000 guns" his new-found hero has put "on the street"? (Say, I wonder if any of those have been "traced"?)
I asked Weisser how his business has been. He told me that he stopped selling guns at retail earlier this year.So Joe's favorite gun dealer is one who doesn't sell guns. There's an opening for Gomer if I ever heard one.
Be nice to prove that gun owner refusal to give aid and comfort to the enemy had a lot to do with that development...

There is no compelling need for doctors to talk about guns with their patients. What there is a need for is for doctors to be able to determine whether their patients are able consistently to act rationally and non-violently within their environment in reaction to events that do not call for a violent response. If the patients are not able to do this, then the problem becomes how to treat them appropriately. If the doctors are unable to determine this, then we must deal with the individual patient's gradual or abrupt change from rational to irrational behavior. Giving the patients a prescription for a psychotropic medication and sending them out in the world can be wishful thinking at best. Maybe it will effective. Maybe it will not be effective. Then what, and who has to deal with the consequences?
What must be recognized is that the concept of a free society includes the right of an individual to succeed or to fail spectacularly within that society. There are no guarantees.
