We're the Only Ones In Your Face Enough

A police officer who held a gun to a man’s head, apparently to impress his friends, was convicted Wednesday of first-degree assault and misconduct in office. [More]
And what would the charges have been had the situation been reversed?

Police Chief Mark Macaw... “among the worst I’ve seen as Chief of Police” and that it “will be taken into account when I make a decision about his employment.”

What the fuck did you just say?

How about saying, "This is a thug who should be imprisoned for a long time." That is what you would say about a mere mortal "civilian" who did the exact same thing. But no, you wouldn't say that would you? The officer in question was member in good standing of the The Gang. Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow gang member.

If the civilian had pointed the gun at the cop's head, the charge would be whatever the local mortuary charges for a casket.

The big news value of this article isn’t what the cop did, because cops do this stuff a hundred times a day. It’s the fact that a cop was actually indicted, convicted, and will be serving time for doing what he did.

The charge would be immediate death by firing squad.
