Beyond Jarring

“My daughter was killed by a weapon and so when we talk about victims and the emotions, it’s beyond jarring,” Guttenberg told CBS4. [More]
No, in fact that's not an accurate way to look at it.

I can't help but wonder had a family member been imperiled by a homicidal attacker in his home what this man has been and is prepared to do about it. The ad may be just what he needs to follow up on.

But for the rest of -- we're not allowed to exercise free commercial speech about guns -- forever?

" ... was killed by a weapon."

How?

No point in arguing with Progressives.

Broward County is a Hell Hole.

Killed by a weapon? Not very likely.

Killed by a psychopath with a weapon? Sorry to hear that happened, Sir. You have my deepest sympathy.

With the number of people killed intentionally, negligently or by accident with motor vehicles, will that newspaper now halt motor vehicle advertising?

The comments are enough to read, in that most of them point out the editor's mistake, but the owner's even greater mistake in establishing a moratorium on all gun ads. They're not pulling all car, alcohol or cell phone ads, despite the fact that 1,000's of kids are killed each year by driving while texting/drinking.

People have abandoned common sense in favor of "political correctness".

I was going to comment about whether the paper would pull all car ads if this kid had gotten run over, but it was so obvious that someone had beaten me to it.

This is another classic of misdirection, like the mayor who approved the hiring of the unqualified Somali cop that killed the pregnant victim, when she pleaded with her citizens not to “blame all Somalis.”

In this case, it’s not the editor’s fault that he’s too stupid or careless to avoid inserting an ad in an inappropriate place. No, it’s the fault of the evil gun industry, so absolve all his blame by banning all gun ads.
