Actually they don't think it will ever happen. Just as they feel they can't be trusted with a firearm due to their poor impulse control, they think you shouldn't be trusted with one either, they can't imagine fighting for their beliefs much less killing for them. So they don't believe you or I will either.
And where many gun owners are concerned, they're 100% on the money.
Wait for the Flashover -- it's coming.
