We're the Only Ones Coming to Grips Enough

An off-duty police officer accidentally discharged his off-duty firearm during a wrestling tournament at Fowlerville High School Saturday. The officer accidentally discharged his off-duty sidearm while watching the wrestling meet and standing on the gym floor. [More]
I'm just wondering why none of these "news" sources appear to have identified "the officer." The public has no interest in knowing who this boob is?

There are no AD's. (Accidental Discharge)

Every AD is really an ND. (Negligent Discharge)

Given that the public apparently has no "need to know", hopefully his department will have a serious sit down with this officer.

Hey, the only thing we 'need to know' is that if a highly trained law enforcement professional can't carry a gun with accidental gun violence, then obviously the 500,000 amateur CPL holders in Michigan are even less trustworthy than the trained professional.

OK, so I followed the search link and learned:
The responsible party is a Flint PD officer.
The responsible party is the father of one of the wrestlers.

If one of the many parents who was not a LEO had done the same thing, Fowlerville PD would have arrested him on the spot, and his name would have been published from the arrest records.

There’s clearly an “is that a gun in your pocket” joke in here somewhere.
