Leonard Pitts was once the pop music critic for "The Miami Herald". And he was good at it. He should consider asking for his old assignment back.

Vallejo police are looking for the suspects in the fatal shooting of a Filipino American man and the wounding of another victim at a Vallejo hotel on Sunday, September 21 ... Vallejo is a city north of San Francisco with one of the oldest Filipino communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Of course. it's a terrible number. But it pales in comparison to the 2.5 million times a firearm is used to END violence before it starts. Society in general suffers from "target fixation", and refuses to see anything but the single point on which they are focused to the exclusion of all else.
