Pockets of Resistance

Resistance to tyranny! A conversation with Dr Adam Bogart (edited) about the people resisting tyranny... [More]
As for "those purists who are critical of Trump for not being tough enough on gun rights; but are you ready to fight when political arrests or gun grabbers knock on your doors?"

Trump needs to hear it and feel the pressure when he strays from the pledges that his core gave him the power to fulfill, otherwise, he will be emboldened to infringe even more and that base will become dispirited, cynical and resentful, and then a Democrat will win. Those who point that out and urge him to stay the course are doing the man a service.

And you don't let the oppressor choose the time and place if you can help it.

Patton said it best.

You are correct David as far as keeping the fee to the fire of all politicians. But we do need to be a bit practical. And I do have an idealistic and libertarian, even anarchistic, streak in me, but I keep it under control, as I have lived in the belly of the totalitarian beast. The communists have always devoured their "allies," whether in Barcelona, Spain, 1938-1939; USSR (1918-1921): Italy 1920s, especially idealistic anarchists of the right. I like and agree with most everything you write, but it is good to have a bit of a check on each other, hopefully one day over beer and Cuban cigars! --- Dr. Miguel Faria

The purists who attacked trump forced him to reverse course more than once after he agreed in principal to some form of gun control, so the strategy does work.
You are absolutely correct.
