They’re not taking a knee because they’re against our flag. [More]That will certainly come as a surprise to Colin Kaepernick:
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. And lest we forget:
“The Colin Kaepernick Foundation donated in April $25,000 to Assata’s Daughters, a Chicago ‘direct action’ resistance organization honoring Assata Shakur, who escaped prison and fled to Cuba after being found guilty in the 1973 murder of Officer Werner Foerster.”That's what this coward is kneeling for, and through his position putting unconscionable pressure on individual players who may not want to kneel but fear ruination and the trashing of a lifetime of work and achievement to get where they are. It's not optional.
We know it extends lower, to school teams and youth leagues. Who would subject their child to the choice between being true to themselves and being condemned by his adult-manipulated peers just to play sports, or surrendering to the pressure and learning that betrayal of conscience is the social expectation if one wishes to survive and advance?
Ideologically, this is conscience rape, equivalent to Harvey Weinstein saying if you want a place at my table, you'll need to take TWO knees.
Does any gun owner still patronize the anti-gun NFL? Why?
