They're attacking land ownership because they know that those of us in rural areas have a kind of power over the commies: we network, we have community, and we have resources. They can't let the proles have resources.

My former wife's grandfather was Ukrainian. He remembered, during the Holodomor mass starvation (the one the NY Times denied), going into the woods with his mother and pulling the bark off trees for food. The malnutrition he suffered impaired him as an adult both mentally and physically but did not stop the Red Army from putting him in a T-34 tank a few years later to defend the very system that had intentionally starved him. After the war was over he joined the Communist Party which never did a dam thing for him. I have no doubt there are elites in this country who would, and will, demand similar sacrifices to achieve their dubious policy goals.
