Command Failure

From Afghanistan to Iraq, a lot of military observers say America can't seem to win wars even though we have the most powerful military on the planet. [More]

With the being-forced-on-us domestic unpleasantness and being forced-on-them ideological homogeneity, are we sure that's the worst thing?

The curse of the politically connected military leader who can't fight his/her way out of a wet paper bag is an old one.

Ever read Tennyson's "Charge of the Light Brigade"?

War is the health of the state. Winning one is counterproductive, it just makes the Swamp have to start a new one.
Besides, actually winning involves unpleasant obligations. Read "The Mouse That Roared."
