Three years ago, there was a giant brouhaha about the Chinese installing secret chips in American router and computer equipment. It was all over the news for more than a week. Then we started getting "he said, she said" articles calling all the previous articles "conspiracy theories," and suddenly the subject went off the radar. And we never hear about it any more. Isn't that special?
