...one of the most visible figures of the right-wing anti-government movement. [More]
Just in case you missed it the first time, MSN uses the term "anti-government" nine more times in this innuendo piece.
That's Opposite Day "progressive" for making first responders aware of the significance of their oath and their lawful duty to refuse to obey unlawful orders. That this is an honorable and necessary goal that all Americans who value liberty should support is nowhere acknowledged.
They also never seem to want to refer readers over to the association Bylaws, which clearly state:
Section 8.02. Restrictions on Membership:
(a) No person who advocates, or has been or is a member, or associated with, any organization, formal or informal, that advocates the overthrow of the government of the United States or the violation of the Constitution thereof, shall be entitled to be a member or associate member.
(b) No person who advocates, or has been or is a member, or associated with, any organization, formal or informal, that advocates discrimination, violence, or hatred toward any person based upon their race, nationality, creed, or color, shall be entitled to be a member or associate member.
I didn't post this to discuss, defend or condemn Stewart. I posted it to refute a Big Lie that has nothing to do with his personal and legal issues except to exploit them to advance a much larger goal affecting you and me.
