What is even more interesting is that this article is from U.Mass/Boston, reporting on events at U.Mass/Amherst. Worlds apart, culturally. Urban UMB is majority minority (or is that minority majority?), built on a former marshland on Boston Harbor that was a Boston dump landfill whose buildings have soundproof windows because it is on the landing approach path for nearby Logan International Airport. Until recently there was no student residential housing. The much larger and bucolic UMA is built on former Connecticut Valley farmland.
